The World's Most Hardest MC Project, is the fifth studio album by D-Block member and New York rapper Styles P. It was released on November 20, 2012, by D-Block and E1 Music. The album was supported by two singles, "I Know" and "Araab Styles". Producers on the album included Jahlil Beats and AraabMuzik, among others, with features including Sheek Louch, Bucky, Large Amount, A.P. and Snyp.

Background

On August 23, 2012, Styles P released the free EP The Diamond Life Project, a collaboration with streetwear/skateboarding label Diamond Supply Co. [1] The mixtape featured guest appearances from French Montana, Pusha T, Curren$y, Trae Tha Truth and Fred the Godson; as well as production from Jahlil Beats, The Beat Bully, Lex Luger, V Don and The Alchemist.

After the release of the EP, Styles continued work on The World's Most Hardest MC Project.

The album features production from AraabMuzik and Jahlil Beats among other street producers with the only features coming from the D-Block family. The original release date was November 13, 2012, but it was pushed back to November 19. [2]

Singles

The first single entitled "I Know" was released on October 11, 2012. [3] It is produced by Jahlil Beats. [4] On October 22, 2012, the music video was released for "Araab Styles". "Araab Styles" was also released as the second single. [5] On November 11, 2012, the music video was released for "I Know". [6] On November 20, 2012, the music video was released for "Pop Out". [7] On November 23, 2012, the music video was released for "Hoody Season". [8]

The World's Most Hardest MC Project was met with generally positive reviews from music critics. Nick De Molina of XXL gave the album an L rating, stating that the album is "a brief, hard-bodied offering from, as the title suggests, an MC who has made it his business to stay gutter in the ever-softening climate of mainstream hip-hop." The production was praised and he was called one of the most consistent artists in the game. However the album was described as sounding vaguely playful. [11] David "Rek" Lee of HipHopDX gave the album three and a half stars out of five, saying "Overall, you won't find a highly conceptual track on here but there is enough solid material on here to make a strong case for The World's Most Hardest MC, both in the street and on the mic." [10] David Jeffries of AllMusic gave the album three and a half stars out of five, saying "It all works, and there's a winning mix of hardcore and crossover that deserves consideration, but it all runs out too fast, coming off as a taster platter for a better, fatter, four-star Styles P album." [9]

Along with the other members of the Lox, he is a founder of D-Block Records and was also a part of the Ruff Ryders Entertainment collective. In addition, he has released multiple albums and mixtapes as a solo MC. In 2002, he released his debut solo album A Gangster and a Gentleman, which contained the hit single "Good Times". The song peaked at number 22 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and received massive nationwide airplay in 2002.

Skyzoo American rapper from New York

Gregory Skyler Taylor, known professionally as Skyzoo, is an American actor and rapper. He has released a number of notable solo and collaborative albums, including Cloud 9: The 3 Day High with 9th Wonder in 2006, The Salvation in 2009, A Dream Deferred in 2012, Music For My Friends in 2015, and his most recent solo album All the Brilliant Things. Skyzoo has also released a plethora of non-commercial mixtapes including Corner Store Classic and The Great Debater throughout his career, and has worked with artists such as Jill Scott, Wale, Lloyd Banks, Tyrese, Dr. Dre, Raheem Devaughn, Black Thought, Jadakiss, Talib Kweli, Spike Lee, John Legend, and others. Skyzoo has headlined or co-headlined often-yearly tours throughout Europe, the United Kingdom, Africa, Australia, and Asia, and he owns and operates the independent record label First Generation Rich.

Slaughterhouse (group) American hip hop group

Slaughterhouse was a hip hop supergroup consisting of rappers Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, Crooked I and Royce da 5'9". They released two studio albums as a group: Slaughterhouse (2009) independently and Welcome to: Our House (2012) under Shady and Interscope Records.

Abraham Orellana, better known as his stage name AraabMuzik, is an American record producer and DJ. He made a name for himself by performing beats and instrumentals live and in real time on a AkaiPro Music Production Center (MPC) drum machine. He uses MPC to produce rapid, rhythmic drum patterns and creates melodies with samples and other sounds.
