Themba Ndaba (born 14 February 1965) is a South African actor and director. He is best known for casting in the movie Machine Gun Preacher and in the series Zone 14. He currently stars as Brutus Khoza in the South African Ferguson Films TV series The Queen. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]

Biography

Born in Soweto, Gauteng, he moved to Swaziland (since 2018 renamed to Eswatini) at an early age and was brought up there. He started school in 1970 and matriculated at St Marks High School in 1982. He then went to study Economics and Statistics in Zimbabwe in 1983. He took a break from studies and worked as a banker in Harare for a while. From 1986 to 1988 he attended Harare Polytechnic, where he graduated with a Higher National Diploma in Business Studies with a distinction in Economics and Statistics. [6]

In 2011, He won a Golden Horn Award for being the Best Feature in a movie and also won the 2011 Africa Movie Academy Awards for his leading role in the movie Hopeville. [8]

Television

He plays a role as Brutus Khoza in the Ferguson Films TV series The Queen. [9]

Personal life

In 1998, he married actress Sophie Ndaba, whom he has two children with; they divorced in 2007. In 2011, he married Josey Ndaba, with whom he has one child. [10] [11]

The Queen is a South African telenovela that premiered on Mzansi Magic on 1 August 2016 and on Canal Plus in April 2020. It is produced by Ferguson Films, owned by acting veterans Connie Ferguson and her late husband Shona Ferguson. The Queen ran at a 260 episode per season and aired every Monday to Friday at 21h00 on Mzansi Magic.

Mzansi Magic is a South African digital satellite and general entertainment channel created by Multichoice and run by M-Net's local interest division, and is broadcast on DStv.

Giyani: Land of Blood is a South African telenovela drama series created by Tshedza Pictures. It is the very first Xitsonga drama series made since the advent of Television in South Africa. It began airing on 1 April 2019 on SABC 2. Season 2 began airing on the 1st of November 2021, on SABC 2 from 21:30 to 22:00 pm.

Gomora was a South African television drama series produced by Seriti Films. The series was filmed in the Alexandra township, hence the name of the series. Gomora was a story about inequality,crime,murder and how one's betrayal can cause a change of lifestyle to another. It is an M-Net original production commissioned for M-Net's local interest channel Mzansi Magic. The drama series replaced Isthembiso, which had not been renewed for a fourth season. The series told story of two families living different lifestyles and how crime changed ones lifestyle.
