Eswaran Ramar, known by his screen name Theni Eswar, is an Indian cinematographer who works mainly in Tamil cinema and Malayalam cinema.

Early life

Eswar grew up in Theni completing his schooling and he graduated in diploma in automobile engineering. In his college days he took up photography, which led to a career. He went on to receive a Kodak Award for street photography.[ citation needed ] He spent most of his early life in Theni before moving to Chennai.

Film career

Eswar moved to Chennai to start his career as a cinematographer.

He also shot the photographs for Vairamuthu novels including kallikattu ithigasam, Karuvaachi kaaviyam, and Tamizhatrupadai.

During his search for a job as an assistant cinematographer he collaborated with Baskar Sakthi, a writer in Ananda Vikatan who was at that time writing a series called Route Bus and was given the role of photographing the scenic routes of travel, places and the locals.

He shot the films Sivappathigaram , Kattradhu Thamizh , Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu and more. During the photoshoot of Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu, director Suseenthiran hired him as a cinematographer for his next film, Azhagarsamiyin Kuthirai . Then he collaborated with the directors Bala, Ram and Gowtham Menon. He worked with Ram on the film Taramani , which was his second venture, and he is credited as an additional cinematographer in Gowtham Menon's movie Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada .

He also shot Bala's movie Naachiyaar which released in 2018. Another film in which he worked with debutant director Lenin Bharathi titled Merku Thodarchi Malai which released in the same year. He won the Best Cinematographer Award in Norway Tamil Film Festival Awards [1] and Bioscope film festival [2] held in Punjab for that movie. He again collaborated with Ram in the movie Peranbu with actor Mammootty as the lead. The film was released in February 2019. [3]

The music was composed by V. Selvaganesh with cinematography by Laxman Kumar and editing by Kasi Viswanathan. The film released on 29 January 2009.

Suseenthiran is an Indian film director and screenwriter in Tamil cinema. He rose to fame with his directorial debut Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu (2009).

The Vijay for Best Film is given by STAR Vijay as part of its annual Vijay Awards ceremony for Tamil (Kollywood) films.

The film's score and soundtrack album is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, with cinematography and editing handled by Theni Eswar and Surya Pradhaman respectively. It follows the story of a confused father, who is dejected after his wife abandons him and their child, who has cerebral palsy, struggles to take care of his daughter while society constantly rejects him.

Vennila Kabaddi Kuzhu 2 is a 2019 Indian Tamil-language sports action film directed by Selva Sekaran. A sequel to Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu (2009), the film is written by the original's director Suseenthiran and features Vikranth and Arthana Binu. An ensemble cast including Pasupathy, Kishore, Anupama Kumar, Soori, Appukutty, and Ganja Karuppu also plays pivotal roles. Featuring music composed by V. Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai is a 2024 Indian Tamil-language film written and directed by Ram and produced by Suresh Kamatchi under V House Productions. It stars Nivin Pauly, Anjali and Soori. The film's score and soundtrack album is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, with cinematography and editing handled by N.K. Ekambaram and Mathi V.S respectively. The story is set on a moving train where an encounter between a 32-year-old everyman and an 8,000-year-old immortal – and a rat – triggers a series of events that would intertwine their destinies.
