Tamil Nadu is a state in southern India. Its capital and largest city is Chennai. The state is the home of the Tamil people, whose Tamil language—one of the longest surviving classical languages in the world—is widely spoken in the state and serves as its official language.

Tiruvallur is a Grade I municipality and a fast developing city in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is located on the banks of Coovum river about 46 km (29 mi) from downtown Chennai (Madras) and just 5 km from megacity border, in the western part of the Chennai Metropolitan Area (CMA). It is the administrative headquarters of Tiruvallur district. The city is known for the Veera Raghavar temple, one of the 108 sacred shrines of Vaishnavites. The tank festival is held at a pond near this temple. A Shiva temple near this shrine which is popular among the locals. There is also a 40-foot (12 m) tall Viswaroopa Panchamukha Hanuman temple, where the murti is made of a single green granite stone.
Sholavaram aeri, or Sholavaram lake, is located in Ponneri taluk of Thiruvallur district, Tamil Nadu, India. It is one of the rain-fed reservoirs from where water is drawn for supply Chennai city from this lake to Puzhal lake through canals.

The Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA), formerly known as the Madras Metropolitan Development Authority (MMDA), is the nodal planning agency of Chennai in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The CMDA administers the Chennai Metropolitan Region, spread over an area of 1,189 km2 (459 sq mi) and covers the districts of Chennai, Thiruvallur, Chengalpattu and Kancheepuram. It was set up for the purposes of planning, co-ordination, supervising, promoting and securing the planned development of the Chennai Metropolitan Area. It coordinates the development activities of the municipal corporations, municipalities and other local authorities.

Uthukottai is a town in Suburbs of Chennai, one of the taluk headquarters in Thiruvallur District Tamil Nadu, also one of the border towns of Tamilnadu - Andhra Pradesh, located on the banks of the Arani river. This town is the central hub for many nearby towns and villages for their needs of education, markets, shops, businesses, banks, travel, transport and entertainment(Movie Theatres, badminton courts, cricket grounds, Gyms). The town features a channel which helps to direct water from the Krishna river for local irrigation.
Perumalpattu is a suburb of Chennai Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is situated between Chennai and Arakkonam near the Chennai–Arakkonam railway line. It is a town in the suburb of Chennai. Once upon a time the villagers lived near the koovam river which passes adjacent to the village, a big flood happened in the river which has resulted the villagers to migrate to the current land. Chennai–Thiruvallur High Road, formerly known as Madras–Thiruvallur High Road, is one of the chief routes connecting the northwestern suburbs of Chennai, India. Starting from Padi Junction, the road connects the neighbourhoods of Padi, Ambattur, Thirumullaivoyil, Avadi, Pattabiram, Thirunindravur, and Thiruvallur. It is one of the four national highways that radiates out of Chennai city and is part of National Highway 205.
Vadamadurai is a panchayat village in Thiruvallur district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
Vallur Thermal Power Station is a power plant located in Athipattu Pudunagar, Vallur in Thiruvallur district, North Chennai, India. The power plant is operated by NTPC Tamil Nadu Energy Company Limited, a joint venture between NTPC Limited and TANGEDCO and has three units with 500 MW each.
Thervoy Kandigai reservoir is the fifth major reservoir built to satisfy drinking water needs of Chennai city. The reservoir was constructed by combining Thervoy Kandigai and Kannankottai lakes in Thiruvallur district. It was commissioned by Amit Shah, Internal Affairs minister of India, on November 21, 2020. Water levels in the reservoir reached its full capacity on March 11, 2021 for the first time.
