This Bliss is an American indie electronic band from Massachusetts.
Singer-songwriter Jess Baggia released her debut studio EP, entitled Back in the Game, in 2009, which is described as a collection of pop compositions, with influences from roots, blues and Americana music. Baggia performed around the Greater Boston area, building a fan base, and selling out popular local music venues, before being joined by Tom Maroon and Nick Zampiello. Zampiello has won two Boston Music Awards. [1] Originally conceived as a studio project, Baggia and Zampiello formed the band This Bliss to explore their take on electronic rock. Shortly thereafter, Maroon joined them to round out the trio. The band describes as themselves as "true grime," [2] and they draw comparison to the music of St. Lucia and Portishead. [1]
In 2018, This Bliss signed with Mint 400 Records. They released their debut album Forensic Styles, described by Patch Media 's Sam Bayer as "a cinematic dreamscape that explores the world of trip-hop and electronica through the lens of a crime novelist," on 18 September 2018. [3] The album features drum machines and synthesizers, and draws inspiration from the television show Forensic Files. [1] [4]
The album is described as "electronic soul," and Impose calls the single "Believe" a "shimmering, whirring track engulfs you in heavy electronica in a pop style similar to CHVRCHES but more atmospheric." [5] [6] The track "Make it Real" features Baggia's "cool vocals slink[ing] and sway[ing] over electro beats and tremolo guitar." [2]

Post-rock is a form of experimental rock characterized by a focus on exploring textures and timbres, as well as non-rock styles, with less emphasis on conventional song structures or riffs. Post-rock artists typically combine rock instrumentation with electronics. The genre emerged within the indie and underground music scene of the 1980s and early 1990s. However, due to its abandonment of rock conventions, it began to increasingly show little resemblance musically to conventional indie rock at the time, borrowing instead from diverse sources including ambient, electronica, jazz, krautrock, dub, and minimalist classical, with these influences also being pivotal for the style of ambient pop.
Dream pop is a subgenre of alternative rock and neo-psychedelia that emphasizes atmosphere and sonic texture as much as pop melody. Common characteristics include breathy vocals, dense productions, and effects such as reverb, echo, tremolo, and chorus. It often overlaps with the related genre of shoegaze, and the two genre terms have at times been used interchangeably.

Dubstep is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in South London in the early 2000s. The style emerged as a UK garage offshoot that blended 2-step rhythms and sparse dub production, as well as incorporating elements of broken beat, grime, and drum and bass. In the United Kingdom, the origins of the genre can be traced back to the growth of the Jamaican sound system party scene in the early 1980s.

UK garage, abbreviated as UKG, is a genre of electronic dance music which originated in England in the early to mid-1990s. The genre was most clearly inspired by jungle, but also incorporates elements from dance-pop and R&B. It is defined by percussive, shuffled rhythms with syncopated hi-hats, cymbals, and snares, and may include either 4/4 house kick patterns or more irregular "2-step" rhythms. Guppy is the debut album of Brooklyn power pop group Charly Bliss, consisting of Eva Hendricks, Spencer Fox, Sam Hendricks (drums), and Dan Shure. The group wrote it over the course of four years and recorded two versions of it: one tracked in 2015, which they rejected because it was not "fun", and a more pop-infused version recorded in early 2016 that was released by Barsuk Records in April 2017. The album contains a harsh 1990s-esque alternative rock sound with lyrics that deal with emotional vulnerability.
