The Annecy International Animation Film Festival was created in 1960 and takes place at the beginning of June in the town of Annecy, France. Initially occurring every two years, the festival became an annual event in 1998. It is one of the four international animated film festivals sponsored by the International Animated Film Association.
James Cunningham is a New Zealand film director and animator. He has directed twelve award-winning short films. He is based in Auckland, New Zealand.
Hitomi Shimizu (冷水ひとみ) is a keyboardist and composer of live action films, television programs, animated shorts and videogames. She is part of a musical duo with violinist Hiromi Nishida called Syzygys. Born in Nara, Japan, she majored in music composition at the Toho Gakuen School of Music. Her score for the 2001 comedy Waterboys, composed with Gakuji Matsuda, won the Japan Academy Prize for best film score. She also contributed music to the short film Mt. Head, by Kōji Yamamura, which won the top prize at the 27th Annecy International Animation Film Festival, and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film. That film also won the Best Soundtrack Creation Award at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival.
World Festival of Animated Film Zagreb, best known as Animafest Zagreb, is a film festival entirely dedicated to animated film held annually in Zagreb, Croatia. Initiated by the International Animated Film Association (ASIFA), the event was established in 1972. Animafest is the second oldest animation festival in the World, after the Annecy International Animated Film Festival.
Lipsett Diaries is a 2010 short animated documentary film about the life and art of collage filmmaker Arthur Lipsett, animated and directed by Theodore Ushev and written by Chris Robinson. The 14-minute film was produced by the National Film Board of Canada in Montreal, where Lipsett had worked from 1958 to 1972, before committing suicide in 1986. The film is narrated by Xavier Dolan.
Triggerfish is a computer animation film studio based in Cape Town, South Africa and Galway, Ireland. The studio is best known for its animated feature films Adventures in Zambezia (2012), Khumba (2013), and Seal Team (2021), as well as the work they have done on television specials created for UK producers Magic Light Pictures. In 2016, Stick Man was awarded the Cristal for best TV production at the Annecy International Animation Festival. In 2017, Revolting Rhymes again won the Cristal for best TV production at the Annecy Festival, and was nominated for the Best Short Film (Animated) Oscar at the 2018 Academy Awards. In 2019, Netflix announced that Triggerfish would produce its first African animated TV series. In 2020, Zog won the International Emmy for Best Kids Animation. In 2021, The Snail and The Whale won Best Special Production at The Annie Awards, while Triggerfish received the Mifa Animation Industry Award at Annecy for "the pioneering role that the company has played in animation in South Africa, and Africa most widely.” In 2022, their third film, Seal Team, made the Netflix Top 10 Films global list for its launch week.

En Tus Brazos is a 2006 French animated short film directed by Fx Goby, Matthieu Landour and Edouard Jouret. The film inspired by Tango culture has been shown in many festivals around the world and won a few awards including the SIGGRAPH Award of Excellence in 2007. The film has also been shown in festivals such as Annecy International Animated Film Festival, and the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival.
Grandpa Walrus is an animated short film directed by Lucrèce Andreae and produced by Caïmans Productions. The short has been presented and won awards in a number of festivals including in Cannes Film Festival, The Annecy International Animation Film Festival where it won The Audience Award., winner of The César Award for Best Animated Short Film at the french Motion Picture César Academy, nominated at the Annie Awards and Shortlisted at the Oscars.
Lucrèce Andreae is a French director, screenwriter and animator. She directed the short film Grandpa Walrus which won the César Award for Best Short Film during The Academy of Cinema Arts and Techniques in 2018 and The Audience Award during The Annecy International Animation Film Festival.
Le Mans 1955 is a 2018 French adult animated short film directed by Quentin Baillieux and produced by Nicolas de Rosanbo & Carole Lambert inspired by the 1955 Le Mans disaster. The short has been presented in a number of festivals including in the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival and the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in 2019, and won awards such as the St. Louis International Film Festival for Best Animated Short Film award, qualifying it for the Oscars.
The Ostrich Politic is a 2018 French animated short film directed by HouHou during his studies at Gobelins, l'École de l'image French animation school.
Hors Piste is a 2018 CG animated short film directed by Oscar Malet, Léo Brunel, Camille Jalabert & Loris Cavalier during their studies at l'École des Nouvelles Images, French animation school. This short has been presented and won awards in a number of festivals including Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, the Aspen Shortsfest, the Flickerfest, The Palm Springs International Festival of Short Films and the New York International Children's Film Festival where it won the Oscar Qualifying prize for best animation.

It has been selected and awarded at several film festivals including Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, Palm Springs International Film Festival as well as Aspen Shortsfest, where it won the Oscar Qualifying Jury Award for Comedy.

The short has been presented and won awards in a number of festivals, such as a Jury Mention at the Clermont-Ferrand Film Festival and the Short Film Jury Award at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival qualifying the short for the 95th Academy Awards and got nominated for an Annie Award in Best Short Subject category in 2022.
Letter to a Pig is a 2022 Israeli-French animated short film written and directed by Tal Kantor. The 17-minute animated film about generational trauma has been awarded in various international film festivals, including the Jerusalem Film Festival, the Ottawa International Animation Festival, the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and the Chicago International Children's Film Festival. The film was nominated for the 2024 Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film.
Scale is a 2022 French animated short film directed by Joseph Pierce. The film debuted at the 2022 Critics Week at Cannes Film Festival and was produced by Melocoton Films (France), in co-production with Bridge Way Films (UK), Endorfilm and Ozù Productions (Belgium). Scale has received several nominations and awards, including a nomination for Best British Short Film at the 2022 British Independent Film Awards and winning the Golden Zagreb Award at the 2023 Zagreb World Festival of Animated Films. In August 2022, the film won the Oscar-qualifying award for Best Animation at HollyShorts Film Festival, and became eligible for the 96th Academy Awards. The film is also in the official selection for the 2024 César Awards.
