Thor Gystad (born 3 August 1919 in Ullensaker, died 15 June 2007) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party.

Ullensaker is a municipality in Akershus county, Norway. It is part of the traditional region of Romerike. The administrative centre of the municipality is the city of Jessheim. It has a population of 32,438 inhabitants. Norway's largest international airport Oslo Airport, Gardermoen, is located in Ullensaker.

He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Akershus in 1969, and was re-elected on two occasions.

The unicameral parliament has 169 members, and is elected every four years based on party-list proportional representation in nineteen plurinominal constituencies. Akershus County (fylke) of Norway

Akershus[²ɑːkəʂˌhʉːs](listen) is a county in Norway, bordering Hedmark, Oppland, Buskerud, Oslo, and Østfold; it also has a short border with Sweden (Värmland). Akershus, with a little over 614,000 inhabitants, is the second most populated county by population after Oslo. The county is named after Akershus Fortress. The county administration is in Oslo, which is not part of the county per se.

On the local level he was a member of Ullensaker city council from 1951 to 1971 and 1979 to 1983, serving as mayor from 1959 to 1969. From 1959 to 1969 he was also a member of Akershus county council, serving as county mayor from 1963 to 1969.
