Green Lake is a city in Green Lake County, Wisconsin, United States. The population was 960 at the 2010 census. The city is located on the north side of Green Lake. The city of Green Lake is the county seat for the county of Green Lake. The Town of Green Lake is located on the south side of Big Green Lake, opposite the city.

History

The opera house was built by Charlie Thrasher. [2] It began showing vaudeville and traveling theatrical performance and, later, movies. In the 1920s, the opera house installed the proper equipment to show sound films. The building underwent renovations in the 1990s. It is listed on the Wisconsin State Register of Historic Places and has been designated a City of Green Lake Historic Structure.

William Waters (architect) American architect

William Waters (1843–1917) was an American architect who designed numerous buildings in Wisconsin that eventually were listed on the National Register of Historic Places. He was responsible for designing much of historic Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He was also responsible for designing the Wisconsin building for the Columbian Exposition. After his death, Oshkosh honored him by naming the intersection of Washington Avenue and State Street as the "William Waters Plaza".

Big Bay sloop (shipwreck)

The Big Bay Sloop is the name given to the unidentified remains of a sunken sloop in Lake Superior located off the coast of Madeline Island in La Pointe, Wisconsin, United States. The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 14, 2009. Additionally, it is a designated National Marine Protected Area.

The Green Bay is the name given to an unidentified sloop that sank in Lake Michigan off the coast of Sevastopol, Wisconsin. In 2009, the shipwreck site was added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Green Lake Village Hall

Green Lake Village Hall is located in Green Lake, Wisconsin, United States. It was added to both the State and the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.
