Critical response

On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the film has an approval rating of 86%, with an average rating of 6/10. [4]

Frank Sheck of The Hollywood Reporter gave the film mixed reviews. Though he found Taylor a "talented, vivacious performer" he failed to find her role in the film convincing. On the other hand, he praised Schreiber, who he said "delivered a suitably intense and charismatic performance". However, he found the film unable to overcome its cliches. [5]
