Emmett is a graduate of the Kanbar Institute of Film, Television and New Media of the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. [4] He is a member of the International Cinematographers Guild (IATSE Local 600) and the Directors Guild of America. [5] [6] He has worked on music videos for Vampire Weekend, Father John Misty, Weezer, Nasty Cherry and more. [7] [8] [9]
Emmett was a director of photography for films such as Paranormal Activity 4 , The To Do List , The One I Love , The Edge of Seventeen , Sorry to Bother You , Breaking and The American Society of Magical Negroes . The cinematographer or director of photography is the person responsible for the recording of a film, television production, music video or other live-action piece. The cinematographer is the chief of the camera and light crews working on such projects. They would normally be responsible for making artistic and technical decisions related to the image and for selecting the camera, film stock, lenses, filters, etc. The study and practice of this field are referred to as cinematography.
