Superstars is a sports competition in which elite athletes from a variety of sports compete against each other. The athletes must not compete in the sport for which they practice as their profession; resembling a decathlon. Points are awarded for the position in which the competitor places in each event. The competitor with the most points at the end of all ten events is declared the champion.
Jaap-Derk Buma is a former Dutch field hockey player, who played 143 international matches for the Netherlands, in which he scored nineteen goals. The striker made his debut for the Dutch on 5 November 1994 in a match against Belgium. He played in the Dutch League for HC Klein Zwitserland, HC Bloemendaal, Amsterdam, and HC Breda, and was a member of the squad that won the golden medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. His father Edo was also a field hockey international for Holland.
Carina Marguerite Benninga is a former Dutch field hockey player, who played 158 international matches for The Netherlands hockey team, in which she scored 25 goals. She was part of the gold medal winning team at the 1984 Summer Olympics and also won a bronze medal at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Other highlights of her career include gold medals at the EuroHockey Nations Championship and Champions Trophy in 1987, as well as a gold at the 1983 Women's Hockey World Cup and the 1990 Women's Hockey World Cup. Next to her sports career, Carina Benninga studied law; in 1987 she got her Masters’degree.
Geert-Jan Marie Derikx is a field hockey player from the Netherlands, who won the silver medal with the Dutch national squad at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens.
Steven Rutger Jules van Randwijck is a former field hockey midfielder, who competed for the United States and finished twelfth with the national squad at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta. He grew up in the Netherlands, and played club hockey for HC Klein Zwitserland from The Hague.

Hans Tjebbe Kruize is a former field hockey player from the Netherlands. He participated in the 1976 and 1984 Olympic Games and ended up in fourth and in sixth place, respectively. Just like his brothers Ties and Hidde, and his father Roepie, he played club hockey for HC Klein Zwitserland from The Hague. The midfielder earned a total number of 99 caps, scoring fourteen goals, in the years 1974–1984. He won a European title in 1974.
Jan Hidde Kruize is a former field hockey player from The Netherlands, who participated in two Summer Olympics: in Los Angeles (1984) and in Seoul (1988). He ended up in sixth place in California with the Dutch National Men's Team, and won the bronze medal in South Korea, after defeating Australia (2–1) in the Bronze Medal Game.
Ronaldus "Ron" Franciscus Johannes Steens is a former field hockey player from The Netherlands, who was a member of the Dutch National Team that finished sixth in the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California. Eight years earlier the midfielder was also on the Holland squad, that ended up fourth at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal.
Jan Hendrik "Roepie" Kruize was a former field hockey player from the Netherlands. He was one of the Netherlands's most famous players in the years following World War II. Kruize won the bronze medal with the Dutch Men's Team at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London, followed by the silver medal, four years later in Helsinki.
Alyson Regina Annan is an Australian field hockey coach and retired field hockey player, who earned a total number of 228 international caps for the Women's National Team, in which she scored 166 goals. Until January 2022, Annan was the head coach of the Netherlands women's national field hockey team; she led the team to a silver medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil and a gold medal at 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo as well as gold medals at the 2017 and the 2021 Women's EuroHockey Nations Championship in The Netherlands. During 2013 Annan gained the prestigious award of becoming a member of Sport Australia Hall of Fame.She is currently head coach of the China Women's National team.
