Timothy Charles Coyle (born 22 July 1960) is a former Australian cricketer,who played first class cricket for Tasmania. He has been the coach of Tasmania since 15 June 2005.
After being a member of St Patricks College's state title winning team in 1977,Coyle was a consistent wicket-keeper who failed to cement a regular place in the side,although he did represent his home state seven times in the 1990–91 season. Following his retirement from playing,Coyle became a regional coach in his home town of Launceston before being appointed as the Tasmanian Cricket Association's game development manager in 2000,a position he held for five years,before becoming senior coach for Tasmania.
During his coaching reign,he successfully guided Tasmania to their first ever Pura Cup title,winning the competition in the 2006–07 season.
The Tasmanian cricket team, nicknamed the Tigers, represents the Australian state of Tasmania in cricket. They compete annually in the Australian domestic senior men's cricket season, which consists of the first-class Sheffield Shield and the limited overs Matador BBQs One-Day Cup.

Darren Scott Lehmann is an Australian cricket coach and former cricketer who coached the Australian national team. Lehmann made his ODI debut in 1996 and Test debut in 1998. He was on the fringes of national selection for the entirety of the 1990s, and only became a regular in the ODI team in 2001 and Test team in late 2002, before being dropped in early 2005. Primarily an aggressive left-handed batsman, Lehmann was also a part-time left arm orthodox bowler, and gained renown for his disregard for physical fitness and modern dietary regimes. He announced his retirement from first-class cricket in November 2007.
James Redfern Hopes is an Australian cricket coach and former cricketer. Hopes played domestic cricket for Queensland, and had represented Australia in One Day International and Twenty20 cricket.
Bradley James Haddin, is a former Australian cricketer, vice-captain and coach who represented Australia in all three forms of international cricket. He played domestically for New South Wales as a right-handed batsman and wicket-keeper. Haddin was a member of the Australian World cup winning squad at the 2015 Cricket World Cup and played for the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League.
Michael James Di Venuto is an Australian cricket coach and former first-class cricketer who represented both Australia and Italy. The bulk of his first-class cricket career was spent playing for Tasmanian Tigers. After retiring from representative cricket in Australia, he continued playing for Durham County Cricket Club till July 2012, when he announced retirement from County Cricket. He has also previously played cricket in England for Derbyshire and Sussex. A left hand opening batsman, his form for Tasmania throughout the mid-1990s earned him a call up for the Australian national cricket team in the One Day International arena, although after nine games he was dropped. Like some of his contemporary Tasmanian teammates such as Jamie Cox, Dene Hills, and Shaun Young, Di Venuto can be considered unlucky to have not had a more successful international career, as he was playing at a time when the Australian national cricket team was highly dominant, and difficult to earn selection for. After retiring from Durham, he was appointed Australia's full-time batting coach by head coach Mickey Arthur, and was then head coach of Surrey from 2016 until 2020.
Owen Columba Coyle is a professional football manager and former player who is the current head coach of Indian Super League club Jamshedpur, having previously managed Chennaiyin, where he led the team from bottom of the table to the ISL final. He played as a striker for several clubs in England and Scotland, and made one appearance for the Republic of Ireland national team.
Damien Geoffrey Wright is an Australian cricket coach and former first-class cricketer who coached Hobart Hurricanes cricket team. Wright made his debut for Tasmania in 1997, playing with the team until switching to Victoria for the 2008–09 season. In 2002 he played in the Scottish cricket team as their one permitted overseas player—he also had previous spells in county cricket with Northamptonshire, Glamorgan and Somerset. He is a right-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium bowler. He has a side-on bowling action and an ability to bounce the ball sharply. Wright started Coaching the Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League 03 in 2013–14, he coached the team to defeat the Melbourne Stars, who were undefeated in the tournament until then. The Hurricanes then lost the final to the Perth Scorchers. Wright then coached the Hurricanes to the semi-finals in the Champions League T20 2014 in India.
Adam Richard Griffith is a former Australian cricket player and Australian bowling coach. He was appointed as the cricket coach for Tasmania for the 2017–2018 season. He played first-class cricket for Tasmania and also had a spell at Leicestershire. He played his club cricket for South Launceston Cricket Club & North Hobart Cricket Club.
Timothy David Paine is an Australian cricketer and a former captain of the Australia national cricket team in Test cricket. A right-handed batsman and a wicket-keeper, he plays for the Tasmanian Tigers in Australian domestic cricket and was the captain of the Hobart Hurricanes before his selection for Australia in the 2017–18 Ashes series.
Jonathan Wayne Wells is an Australian cricket player, who plays for Western Australia in first-class and one-day cricket, and the Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League (BBL). He originates from Tasmania, and represented Tasmania in both first-class and one-day cricket prior.

Gregory Shipperd is an Australian cricket coach and former cricketer who is the current coach of the Sydney Sixers coaching them to the Big Bash League title in BBL09 in 2019–20. He was also the coach of Delhi Daredevils. As a player, he represented Western Australia from 1977–78 to 1984–85 and finished his career with Tasmania in 1990–91. He went on to coach Tasmania and Victoria, as well as stints as coach of Twenty-20 cricket franchises Melbourne Stars and Delhi Daredevils.

Edwin Emerson Rodwell, MM was an Australian soldier, cricket player, umpire, commentator and administrator. He fought in World War II, in New Guinea, and Borneo, and was awarded the Military Medal. Rodwell was an opening batsman and a prolific run-scorer at club level, and represented Tasmania on 15 occasions at first-class level, captaining the side five times between 1950 and 1951 and 1955–56. He also played three times for a first-class "Tasmania Combined XI". During his captaincy Tasmania won their first first-class match after a winless period of over 20 years, making him the first successful Tasmanian captain since Jim Atkinson in the early 1930s.
Ricky Ponting is a former Australian international cricketer who was born on 19 December 1974. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut for the Australian cricket team against the South Africa cricket team in New Zealand at the age of 20 on 15 February 1995. The eldest of three children, Ponting emulated the feats of his father, playing cricket in summer and Australian rules football in winter, before breaking his arm while playing the latter sport for a junior North Launceston Football Club team as a 14-year-old. He was educated in the Tasmanian state school system, studying at Mowbray Heights Primary and Brooks High School.
The Hobart Hurricanes are an Australian professional men's T20 franchise cricket team based in Tasmania, Australia. They compete in Australia's domestic T20 cricket competition known as the Big Bash League, which is a league where many international players compete. Their team represents Hobart. The Hurricanes play the majority of their home matches at Blundstone Arena, with additional home matches at the University of Tasmania Stadium in Launceston. The Hurricanes wear a purple cricket uniform.
Cricket Australia XI is a domestic cricket team who play tour matches against international teams touring Australia. The team formerly played in Australia's JLT Cup limited-overs tournament. Before each tournament, a 14-man squad was selected from young players with state contracts, or Australian National Performance Squad players, who had not been picked in their respective states' 14-man List A squads for that season's tournament. The aim was to develop their skills against top players.
On 11 and 12 February 1851, teams from Van Diemen's Land and Port Phillip District played the first cricket match between two Australian colonies, recognised in later years as the inaugural first-class cricket match in Australia. It took place at the Launceston Racecourse, known now as the NTCA Ground, in Tasmania. The match was incorporated into celebrations marking the separation of the Port Phillip District from New South Wales in 1851 as the colony of Victoria.
