Tim Furey was a Democratic member of the Montana House of Representatives,representing the 91st district from October 2007 to January 2013.
In 2004,Tim Furey's son Kevin was elected to the Montana House of Representatives. Kevin served for three years before being called to active duty as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army Reserves in Iraq. Kevin recommended his father be appointed to the seat after his resignation in 2007. Local Democrats agreed to the request and appointed Tim Furey to serve as State Representative for the 91st district.
While a member of the Montana House of Representatives,Furey serves on the following committees;Agriculture,Business &Labor and Human Services. In 2011,he voted against the bill that repealed Initiative 148. This reinstated criminal penalties for use of medical marijuana that Montana voters had repealed by a 62%-38% margin in 2004.

A member of the Democratic Party,he was a U.S. senator for over 35 years,making him the longest-serving U.S. senator in Montana history. President Barack Obama appointed Baucus to replace Gary Locke as the 11th U.S. Ambassador to the People's Republic of China,a position he held from 2014 until 2017.
Lincoln Rafael Díaz-Balart is a Cuban-American attorney and politician. He was the U.S. representative for Florida's 21st congressional district from 1993 to 2011. He is a member of the Republican Party. He previously served in the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate. He retired from Congress in 2011 and his younger brother,Mario Díaz-Balart,who had previously represented Florida's 25th congressional district,succeeded him. He is currently chairman of the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute. After leaving Congress,he started a law practice and a consulting firm,both based in Miami,Florida.

In the US state of Montana,cannabis has been legal for both medical and recreational use since January 1,2021,when Initiative 190 went into effect. Prior to the November 2020 initiative,marijuana was illegal for recreational use starting in 1929. Medical cannabis was legalized by ballot initiative in 2004. The Montana Legislature passed a repeal to tighten Montana Medical Marijuana (MMJ) laws which were never approved by the governor. However,with the new provisions,providers could not service more than three patients. In November 2016 Bill I-182 was passed,revising the 2004 law and allowing providers to service more than three patients.
