Tim Kehler (born July 5, 1971) is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach. He most recently served as head coach of the Kassel Huskies in Germany from December 2018 until February 2022. [1]
Born in Victoria, British Columbia, Kehler began his career behind the bench in 2002-03 as head coach of the North Delta Flyers of the PIJHL, followed by a stint as assistant coach of the BCHL’s Surrey Eagles the following season.
From 2004 to 2007, he served as head coach and general manager of fellow BCHL side Trail Smoke Eaters. [2] From 2007 to 2010, Kehler was a member of the coaching staff of WHL’s Swift Current Broncos as an assistant. [3]
The 2010-11 campaign saw him stand at the helm of the Salmon Arm Silverbacks of the BCHL, serving as head coach and general manager. [4]
He accepted the position as head coach of Hungarian side Miskolci Jegesmedve JSE for the 2012-13 season [5] [6] and also worked for the Hungarian federation, serving as assistant coach of the Hungarian Men’s National Team and head coach of the under-20 National Team. [7]
In 2013, Kehler was appointed head coach of German third-division side Löwen Frankfurt. He guided the club to promotion to the second division in his first season at the helm including a record-breaking run of 49 straight wins. [8] [9] In the 2014-15 season, he coached the Lions to a playoff-semifinal appearance in their first year in the DEL2. [10] Kehler and the Löwen team parted company in December 2015 after a run of five losses in eight games. [11]
He was named assistant to head coach Greg Poss at EC Red Bull Salzburg of the Austrian Hockey League in July 2016. [12] He stayed there until the end of the 2017-18 season. In November 2018, Kehler signed with the Kassel Huskies of the German DEL2, where he worked alongside Bobby Carpenter as a coaching duo, [13] on December 18, 2018, Carpenter was sacked and Kehler remained at Kassel as head coach. [14]

Paul Malone Gardner is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and a former centre, who most recently coached at Löwen Frankfurt in Germany.
Mike Card is a professional ice hockey defenceman who currently plays for Löwen Frankfurt. He played Junior A hockey in the BCHL at the age of 15 before 4 seasons with the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL, winning 2 WHL titles and the 2004 Memorial Cup. Card signed a contract with the Buffalo Sabres, NHL in 2006 and played 4 games that season. He spent 3 seasons in the AHL, missing extended time due to concussion problems. Card has played the last 8 seasons in Europe, mostly Germany, recently winning a championship with Löwen Frankfurt.
Richard Chernomaz is a Canadian ice hockey coach and executive as well as former ice hockey right winger. He was most recently the head coach of the VIU Mariners Hockey team in the BCIHL.
Sean Simpson is a Canadian ice hockey coach and former professional ice hockey player. He last served as head coach of Adler Mannheim in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) in Germany.
Clayton Beddoes is a Canadian ice hockey coach and former professional ice hockey centre. He played two seasons in the National Hockey League. He last coached the Italian team HC Bolzano, and has coached the Italian national team at two World Championships.
Michael Stewart is a Canadian-Austrian former professional ice hockey defenceman who has become a coach after his playing days. He was drafted in the first round, thirteenth overall, of the 1990 NHL Entry Draft by the New York Rangers, but never played a game in the NHL.
The EC Kassel Huskies are a professional ice hockey club based in Kassel, Hessen, Germany. The club currently competes in DEL2, the second level of ice hockey in Germany. The Huskies were founded in 1977 and have competed in the top five levels of the hockey in Germany since that time. Kassel's home barn is the Eissporthalle Kassel, which has a capacity of 6,100. The club's nickname is the Sled Dogs. Kassel has won two second level championships in 2008 and 2016 and have won one top level junior championship in 2004. The Huskies have finished runner-up in Germany's top league, DEL, in 1997 and have been beaten finalists in the Deutscher Eishockey-Pokal in 2004.
Corey Neilson is a Canadian born-British former professional ice hockey defenceman who was formerly the long-time head coach of the Nottingham Panthers of the British Elite Ice Hockey League from 2008-2018. He is currently the head coach of German DEL2 side EC Kassel Huskies, having arrived in February 2022.
DEL2 is the second tier ice hockey league in Germany, below the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) and ahead of the Oberliga. Founded in 2013 to replace the defunct 2nd Bundesliga, DEL2 is administered by ESBG, under licence from DEB.

The 2018–19 DEL2 season was the sixth season since the founding of the DEL2, the second tier of German ice hockey, set below the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. The season ran from 14 September 2018 till 28 April 2019. Löwen Frankfurt was crowned league premiers by finishing top of the regular season standings. Ravensburg Towerstars caused an upset by claiming the championship title by defeating Löwen Frankfurt 4-2 in the final series. Promoted team, Deggendorfer SC, was unable to survive in DEL2 and was relegated after losing the relegation playoffs final 3-4 against Wölfe Freiburg.
