Timo Mikael Vornanen (born 30 July 1969) is a Finnish politician and a police officer. He is a member of the Parliament of Finland for the Finns Party.
Vornanen has worked as a police constable since 1993. [1] Vornanen supports traditional and Christian values. His 2023 electoral campaign included themes like anti-immigration,crime prevention and harsher penalties on violent offenses. [2] [3]
On 26 April 2024,Vornanen was arrested over a nightclub shooting incident. He had argued with another man at a Helsinki karaoke bar. Outside the bar Vornanen pulled out a CZ 92 [4] handgun and pointed it at his opponent before firing a shot into the ground. He was arrested at 4 AM that day and released on 27 April. Vornanen is suspected of gun violation and attempted aggravated assault. [5] [6] Another Finns Party MP at the scene was Sanna Antikainen. [7]
The Finns Party,formerly known as the True Finns,is a right-wing populist political party in Finland. It was founded in 1995 following the dissolution of the Finnish Rural Party. The party is currently a participant in the Government of Petteri Orpo,holding seven ministerial portfolios. The party achieved its electoral breakthrough in the 2011 Finnish parliamentary election,when it won 19.1% of votes,becoming the third largest party in the Parliament of Finland. In the 2015 election the party got 17.7% of the votes,making it the parliament's second-largest political party. The party was in opposition for the first 20 years of its existence. In 2015,it joined the coalition government formed by Prime Minister Juha Sipilä. Following a 2017 split,over half of the party's MPs left the parliamentary group and were subsequently expelled from their party membership. This defector group,Blue Reform,continued to support the government coalition,while the Finns Party went into opposition. The party,having been reduced to 17 seats after the split,increased its representation to 39 seats in the 2019 Finnish parliamentary election,while Blue Reform failed to win any seats. During the 2023 Finnish parliamentary election,the Finns Party finished in second place and recorded their strongest result,46 seats,since the party's founding.
Timo Juhani Soini is a Finnish politician who is the co-founder and former leader of the Finns Party. He served as Deputy Prime Minister of Finland from 2015 to 2017 and Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2015 to 2019.

Savo-Karelia is one of the 13 electoral districts of the Parliament of Finland,the national legislature of Finland. The district was established in 2013 by the merger of North Karelia and North Savo districts. It is conterminous with the regions of North Karelia and North Savo. The district currently elects 15 of the 200 members of the Parliament of Finland using the open party-list proportional representation electoral system. At the 2023 parliamentary election it had 343,887 registered electors.

Following the 2007 national parliamentary election,Ukkola was again elected as an MP for Oulu,this time for the National Coalition Party,serving until 2011.
Ano Veli Samuel Turtiainen is a Finnish former powerlifter and politician who served in the Parliament of Finland for the South-Eastern Finland constituency from 2019 to 2023. He is also founder and former leader of the Power Belongs to the People party. He lives in Juva. Turtiainen was elected to the parliament in the 2019 parliamentary election. Turtiainen was expelled from the Finns Party due to him posting a tweet perceived as mocking the murder of George Floyd in February 2021.
