Sylvia Mary Burwell is an American government and non-profit executive who has been the 15th president of American University since June 1,2017. She is the first woman to serve as the university's president. She earlier served as the 22nd United States Secretary of Health and Human Services. President Barack Obama nominated Burwell on April 11,2014. Burwell's nomination was confirmed by the Senate on June 5,2014,by a vote of 78–17. She served as Secretary until the end of the Obama administration. Previously,she had been the Director of the White House Office of Management and Budget from 2013 to 2014.

The Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science (KAMS) is a two-year,residential,early-entrance-to-college program for U.S. high school juniors and seniors who are academically talented in the areas of mathematics and science. Located on the Fort Hays State University campus in Hays,Kansas,students concurrently complete their last two years of high school while earning over 60 college credits.
The Fort Hays State Tigers football program represents Fort Hays State University in college football. They participate in Division II sports within the NCAA in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA). The team plays their home games in Lewis Field Stadium,located on the Fort Hays State University campus in Hays,Kansas.

Prior to Fort Hays State,Martin served as the Dean of Virginia State University's Reginald F. Lewis School of Business,a position she held from August 1,2009 until June 30,2014.
Edward H. Hammond is an American educator and former president of Fort Hays State University. Prior to his position at Fort Hays State,Hammond served in student affairs at various institutions including Seton Hall University and the University of Louisville. Hammond completed just two months shy of 28 years,making him the longest serving president at Fort Hays State and leader in the Kansas Board of Regents schools.
John Andrew Tompkins is an American educator in Kansas. Prior to his previous post at Wichita State University,he served as interim president at Fort Hays State,as well as the president of the Kansas Board of Regents from 2010 to 2015. Tompkins was a professor and dean at Pittsburg State University two different times,and served as a superintendent of three different Kansas school districts. Tompkins is also the former Commissioner of the Kansas State Department of Education,serving from June 1,1996 to June 30,2005.
Mark A. Johnson is an American men's basketball coach,currently coaching at Fort Hays State University. Prior to his position,Johnson served as the assistant coach for the program from 1996 to 2001,as well as interim head coach leading up to the 1997–98 season. Prior to becoming an assistant coach at Fort Hays State,Johnson was an assistant at Phillips University,Labette Community College,and served as a graduate assistant for Pittsburg State University. Mark has 3 children.
Bazoline Estelle Usher was an American educator known for her work in the Atlanta Public Schools. As director of education for African-American children in the district prior to integration,she was the first African American to have an office at Atlanta City Hall. She founded the first Girl Scout troop for African-American girls in Atlanta in 1943. Her career as an educator lasted over 50 years,over 40 of which were in the Atlanta schools. A school in Atlanta is named for her,and in 2014 she was posthumously named a Georgia Woman of Achievement.
Hendratta Ali is a geoscientist who does work in hydrology,aqueous geochemistry,exploration geology and equity geoscience. Her home institution is the Department of Geosciences at Fort Hays State University. She was awarded the 2021 Geological Society of America Randolph Bromery award and Fort Hays State University President’s Distinguished Scholar Award. Ali is a native of Cameroon.
