Titus is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.
Titus first appeared in Nova Vol. 5 #1 and was created by Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness.
Titus is an alien resembling an anthropomorphic white tiger who is a former member of the Supernovas, a black ops branch of the Nova Corps. He served with Jesse Alexander, a fellow Supernova and the father of Sam Alexander. [1] [2]
After Jesse Alexander leaves the Nova Corps, Titus is attacked by the Chitauri, loses his right eye and arm, and obtains cybernetic replacements. After serving the Chitauri for several years, Titus comes to Earth in search of Jesse's Nova helmet. [3]
Titus confronts Sam Alexander and falsely claims that he killed Jesse, who was actually captured by the Chitauri. [2] When Titus finds Sam, he threatens not only him, but everything he holds dearly to him in exchange for the Ultimate Nullifier. Sam retrieves his helmet from Titus and takes them both into outer space, expecting the lack of oxygen to kill Titus. When this plan fails, Sam takes the Ultimate Nullifier and accidentally activates it, killing Titus and a fleet of Chitauri. [4] [2]
Titus later appears alive and works with Death's Head to ambush Sam and Richard Rider on Knowhere. [5]
As part of the Nova Corps, Titus wields a Nova Gun and can breathe in outer space. [4]
In his first mission, Nova fought Titus, a former Nova, and ally of his father who made a trade with Chitauri, his life for all Nova's secrets and weapons. Titus followed Nova to Earth and was eventually stopped by Nova's Ultimate Nullifier. When Sam returns home he expresses his suspicion of his father's supposed death, who is being held captive by the Chitauri on another planet.
Also tagging along in this detour to Conjunction is Nova Corpsman Titus, who actually kind of resembles a scarred Man-Wolf. He appears to be a throwaway character, dressed like a movie Nova as opposed to a comics Nova, and only there for clean up purposes at the end.
A cosmic pirate, whose infamy is rapidly beginning to spread, Titus deals in power and secrets on a galactic scale. Few know what his end goals are, but rumors circulate that he may have once been a member of the Nova Corps.
Titus is your classic good guy gone bad, but he's got such a cool design that you can't help but be impressed. Who are we to tell a one-eyed giant tiger with a massive cannon for an arm that he's not the baddest dude in the room? Sam Alexander has way more guts than us, that's for sure.
All seven figures come together to build Titus, the spacewolf with a gun for an arm. Like Star-Lord, Drax and Yondu, Titus is a bit of a surprise. This is the kind of deep cut that makes the Legends line such a fan-favorite, even if Titus isn't exactly a character most of the masses will recognize without a little Wiki diving.
