N.E.R.D. is an American hip hop and rock band, formed in Virginia Beach, Virginia, in 1999. The Neptunes were signed by Teddy Riley to Virgin. After producing songs for several artists throughout the late 1990s, the duo formed the band with Shay Haley as a side project of The Neptunes in 1999. N.E.R.D.'s debut album, In Search Of..., sold 603,000 copies in the United States and was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It was also awarded the second annual Shortlist Music Prize. The band's second album, Fly or Die, sold 412,000 copies in the United States, but shipped at least 500,000 units, certifying it Gold.

In 2018, his second album Crop Circle charted at number 5, and he topped the chart with his third album Crabs in a Bucket in 2020. In 2023 he released Crop Circle 2. He has also produced a series of short films based on his albums in which he has directed and starred in. Nines is a fan of Premier League Football club Arsenal.

"Not Over Yet" was released for digital download and streaming by Warner Music Group, Beerus Limited, and Atlantic Records on 5 August 2022. A remix of the song was released 27 August 2022 featuring British rappers Headie One and Nines. The remix was performed for KSI’s ring walk against Luis Alcaraz Pineda on 27 August 2022.
