Toehider are a progressive rock band from Melbourne, Australia that also identifies as a "collab project between musician and illustrator". [1] Their influences [2] include progressive rock, pop, hard rock, metal and folk.
Toehider was founded in 2008 [3] by Michael Mills (the musician) and Andrew Saltmarsh (the illustrator). After the release of their debut EP Toe Hider in the same year, another twelve EPs were released from May 2009 to April 2010 as part of a 12in12 project, in which the release took place on the twelfth of each month for twelve consecutive months. During these recordings, the band experimented with different styles of music. The EPs were each provided with cover artwork and a 2-page comic by Andrew Saltmarsh (also known by his nickname, "Salt" or "Salty"). [4]
In 2011 the debut album To Hide Her was released, and in 2012 an EP Children of the Sun Part 2. The band's second album What Kind of Creature Am I? was released in 2014. [5] In 2015 the EP Mainly Songs About Robots was recorded with Vinny Appice on drums [6] and released in September of the same year.
The album I LIKE IT! was released in 2020, consisting of selected songs from a list of demos voted by the fans to be recorded for the album. [7] [8]
Mastermind Michael Mills has guest-starred as a singer on the Ayreon albums The Theory of Everything, Transitus, and The Source, as well as on the live project Ayreon Universe. [9]

Star One is a Dutch progressive metal supergroup/side-project of Arjen Anthony Lucassen of Ayreon fame.

Damian Wilson is an English singer-songwriter and musician. Wilson works in the progressive metal genre and was the lead singer of Headspace and Threshold. He sang and toured with bands and projects for Star One, Ayreon, Landmarq, Praying Mantis and with Rick Wakeman's English Rock Ensemble.
Arjen Anthony Lucassen is a Dutch singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist musician and record producer, best known for his long-running progressive metal/rock opera project Ayreon. Lucassen started his career in 1980 as the guitarist and backing vocalist of Dutch heavy metal band Bodine as Iron Anthony, before joining Vengeance in 1984. After eight years he left the band, wanting to go into a more progressive direction, and released two years later an unsuccessful solo album entitled Pools of Sorrow, Waves of Joy under the nickname Anthony.
The Final Experiment is the debut studio album by the Dutch progressive metal project Ayreon, released in 1995. The Theater Equation originally consisted of a four live performances, with cast, choir and small orchestra, of the 2004 album The Human Equation, as an actual rock opera, complete with mise-en-scène. It is the first Ayreon live release, although Ayreon songs had previously been featured on live albums by two of Lucassen's other musical projects, and marks the first time an Ayreon album was performed live in its entirety. The Theater Equation consisted of four shows, all played in Rotterdam between September 18 and 20, 2015, with the last performance being the one recorded for the album.

Unlike Ayreon's first live album The Theater Equation, which was a stage performance of the album The Human Equation, Ayreon Universe was performed as a traditional concert, with two additional songs from Star One, another project by Lucassen. It was recorded during a series of concerts in September 2017, which were the first ever official Ayreon concerts, although The Theater Equation was released as an official Ayreon product.
Transitus is the tenth studio album by the Dutch progressive rock/metal band Ayreon. It was released on 25 September 2020. The album is accompanied by a 25 page comic book, not included with CD or vinyl, and illustrated by Felix Vega.
