Toku was founded in April 2018 by Thomas Laboulle. [3]
In September 2021, Toku raised $5 million in Series A funding. [4] The funds were used to support Toku's expansion, including the development of its "Contact Centre as a Service" platform. [4] In the same month, Toku joined Zoom's Phone Provider Exchange Program, facilitating the integration of businesses' PSTN carriers with Zoom's platform. [5] As an Enhanced Cloud Peering collaborator, Toku is listed for organisations to select as a carrier on the Zoom Phone platform. [6]
In 2022, Toku conducted a survey that revealed, 87 percent of participants received a scam call, 75 percent answered, and 10 percent suffered financial losses, indicating continued vulnerability to phone scams. [7] [8]
