However, beginning the 2009–2010 incoming class, the school changed its policy to allow for admission of "highly-qualified," non-residents.

The history of Arizona State University began March 12, 1885 with the founding of the establishment originally named the Territorial Normal School at Tempe. The school was founded after John Samuel Armstrong first introduced House Bill 164, “An Act to Establish a Normal School in the Territory of Arizona” to the 13th Legislative Assembly of the Arizona Territory. Instruction was instituted on February 8, 1886, under the supervision of Principal Hiram Bradford Farmer. Land for the school was donated by Tempe residents George and Martha Wilson, allowing 33 students to meet in a single room.

Copper Canyon High School is a public high school located in Glendale, Arizona, United States; it is part of the Tolleson Union High School District. Mr. Stevanov, two-time Teacher of the Year, famously teaches at CCHS. The school opened its doors in August 2004 and had its first graduating class in May 2008. Copper Canyon High School requires students to wear student IDs to identify them as students, and are used to access lunch accounts and conduct business in the bookstore or library. CCHS has a security staff of four members on campus to help students follow the rules, and to maintain safety on campus. CCHS holds graduation ceremonies at the State Farm Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals.
