Tolon Senior High School is a second-cycle institution in Tolon in the Northern Region of Ghana. [3] [4] [5] [6] [7] Currently, Mohammed Issifu is the headmaster of the school. [8]

The school was first built as a day school in 1991. [9] In 2019, the school has about 2,343 students. [10]

The Savannah Region is one of the newest regions of Ghana and yet the largest region in the country. The creation of the Region follows presentation of a petition by the Gonja Traditional Council, led by the Yagbonwura Tumtumba Boresa Jakpa I. Upon receiving favourable responses from all stakeholders in the Northern Region, the Brobbey Commission, a referendum was conducted on the 27th December 2018. The result was a resounding yes of 99.7%. The President of the Republic of Ghana signed and presented the Constitutional Instrument (CI) 115 to the Yagbonwura in the Jubilee House, Accra on 12 February 2019. The launch was well attended by sons and daughters of Gonjaland including all current and past Mps, MDCEs and all appointees with Gonjaland descent. Damongo was declared the capital of the new Savannah Region. It is located in the north of the country. On 5 January 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) notified the world about "pneumonia of unknown cause" in China and subsequently followed up with investigating the disease. On 20 January, the WHO confirmed human-to-human transmission of the disease. On 30 January, the WHO declared the outbreak a Public Health Emergency of International Concern and warned all countries to prepare. On 11 March, the WHO said that the outbreak constituted a pandemic. By 5 October the same year, the WHO estimated that a tenth of the world's population had been infected with the novel virus.

Most governments decided to temporarily close educational institutions in an attempt to reduce the spread of COVID-19. As of 12 January 2021, approximately 825 million learners are affected due to school closures in response to the pandemic. According to UNICEF monitoring, 23 countries are implementing nationwide closures and 40 are implementing local closures, impacting about 47 percent of the world's student population. 112 countries' schools are open.

World Vision Ghana is a non governmental organization in Ghana focused on relief, development and advocacy. It was formed in 1979 through its Community Development programs in each region in Ghana. In 1992, World Vision Ghana modified its approach to Area Development Programme which comprises communities and districts leading to a phase out of Community Development projects in 1998.

The murder of Georgina Asor Botchwey, an aspiring trainee nurse, is alleged to have been carried out by the Tufuhene (Chief) of Ekumfi Akwakrom Christopher Ekow Clark Quansah and a pastor Michael Darko Amponsah. The crime was committed at Mankessim in the Central Region of Ghana. The killing came after the victim was allegedly kidnapped by the pastor after she went for an interview at the Ankaful Nursing Training College.

Dompoase Senior High School is a mixed second cycle institution in Dompoase in the Adansi North District in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

Krobea Asante Technical and Vocational School is a second-cycle institution in Effiduase Asokore in the Sekyere East District in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The school is located on the outskirt of Asokore off Ahensan Road. The school is run by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Service in Ghana. In 2015, the school won the Member of Parliament's Independence Cup and was also the second Best Technical Institute in the Ashanti Region.
