Playing career

Watford

Following some impressive displays for Stratford Town, James was signed by Football League Championship side Watford on 5 August 2011. [1]

Tom played his one and only game for Watford in an FA Cup tie against Bradford City on 7 January 2012, he came on as an 85th-minute substitute for Mark Yeates, Watford won the game 4–2. [2]

Tom James was informed he would be released by Watford when his contract expired on 30 June 2012, and would be joined by teammates Rene Gilmartin, Chez Isaac and Michael Bryan. [3]

Daventry Town

Tom signed for Southern Football League Division One Central side Daventry Town on 25 October 2013. [4]

James went on to make 33 league appearances for Daventry Town and scored one goal. [5]

Tamworth

On 10 June 2014, Tom James signed for Conference North side Tamworth. [6]

Thomas Michael Aldred is a professional footballer who plays as a central defender for Brisbane Roar. Born in England, he represented Scotland at youth level. He began his career with Carlisle United in the Football League before joining Watford in 2010 and Colchester United in 2011. He failed to make a first-team appearance for either club, but made loan appearances for Stockport County, Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Barrow. Aldred joined Accrington Stanley in 2013 and then Blackpool two years later. He won promotion to League One with Blackpool in 2017 before joining Bury. In January 2018, he moved on loan to Motherwell, and then in August 2018, signed again on a season-long loan.

Reece Brown is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender. He began his career with Manchester United, but failed to break into the first team and after loan spells at Bradford City, Doncaster Rovers, Oldham Athletic, Coventry City and Ipswich Town, he joined Watford in 2013. At the end of the 2013–14 season, he spent a month on loan to Carlisle United, before leaving Watford for Barnsley on a free transfer ahead of the 2014–15 season. He lasted just a season there before joining Bury. He joined Sheffield United for the 2016–17 season, but was released in January 2017 and returned to Bury. At the end of the season, he joined Rochdale, but his time there lasted just one season. His elder brother, Wes, also played for Manchester United from 1998 to 2011.

The 2013–14 season was Bradford City's 111th season in their history, their 99th in the Football League and 101st in the league system of English football. It was their first season back in League One following six years in League Two, after they beat Northampton Town 3–0 in the 2012–13 League Two Playoff Final.
