Tom Langmyer is an American author, broadcast executive and media consultant.
He is currently CEO of Great Lakes Media Corp. [1] [2] [3] [4]
Langmyer was previously vice president of news/talk/sports radio programming for E. W. Scripps Company and he also served as vice president and general manager of Scripps' Milwaukee radio stations WTMJ (AM) and WKTI. Langmyer joined Scripps in 2013. He previously was vice president and general manager of WGN (AM) in Chicago and KMOX (AM) in St. Louis. He also served as national VP of news/talk formats for CBS Radio.
He began his career in his hometown of Buffalo, New York and later worked for stations in Youngstown, Ohio, Syracuse, New York, New York City and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
In 2018, he was named to the Buffalo Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame. [5]
Langmyer's book, Lake Erie: History and Views was published in 2010. [6] The 312-page hardcover book was written to educate readers on the history of Lake Erie and the surrounding region. The account combines narration, factual summaries, historic photographs, engravings, maps, and antique postcards from Langmyer's collection as well as current photographs. Starting with the creation of Lake Erie during the Ice Age, the story describes the lake's discovery by Europeans, the battles for its control, how people settled and developed the region around the lake, and how the population grew along its shores. The "Circle of Cities and Towns" group of chapters, covers the history of most municipalities around the lake. The reader is also taken behind the scenes aboard a 1,000-foot lakeboat, the Walter J. McCarthy Jr., on a journey up the Great Lakes.

The Niagara River is a river that flows north from Lake Erie to Lake Ontario. It forms part of the border between the province of Ontario in Canada and the state of New York in the United States. There are differing theories as to the origin of the river's name. According to Iroquoian scholar Bruce Trigger, Niagara is derived from the name given to a branch of the locally residing native Neutral Confederacy, who are described as being called the Niagagarega people on several late-17th-century French maps of the area. According to George R. Stewart, it comes from the name of an Iroquois town called Ongniaahra, meaning "point of land cut in two".
Hamburg is a town in Erie County, New York, United States. As of the 2010 census, the town had a population of 56,936. It is named after the city of Hamburg, Germany. The town is on the western border of the county and is south of Buffalo. Hamburg is one of the Southtowns in Erie County. The villages of Hamburg and Blasdell are in the town.
KMOX is a commercial radio station in St. Louis, Missouri. Owned by Audacy, Inc., it is a 50,000 watt Class A clear-channel station with a non-directional signal. The KMOX studios and offices are on Olive Street at Tucker Boulevard in the Park Pacific Building in St. Louis. KMOX refers to itself as "NewsRadio 1120 - The Voice of St. Louis." It is considered the first U.S. station to program all talk shows around the clock.
The New York, Chicago and St. Louis Railroad, abbreviated NYC&St.L, was a railroad that operated in the mid-central United States. He is currently the host of The KQ92 Morning Show from 5:40 am to 9:55 am on 92 KQRS and Tom Barnard Show on 105 The Ticket from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm both broadcast in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. The show on 105 The Ticket makes up the third hour of The Tom Barnard Podcast known as "The Ticket" where the first two hours of the podcast is known as "The Show". As of February, 2014, the podcast was no longer broadcast on 105 The Ticket

The Marconi Radio Awards are presented annually by the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) to the top radio stations and on-air personalities in the United States. The awards are named in honor of Guglielmo Marconi, the man generally credited as the "father of wireless telegraphy". NAB member stations submit nominations. WBNY is the college radio station of Buffalo State College, located within the city of Buffalo, New York. WBNY, licensed in 1982, broadcasts on 91.3 FM. The station is the descendant of BSC's AM carrier-current station known as WSCB, which could be received only on campus through the electrical system. The WBNY call letters were previously associated with 1400 AM in Buffalo in the 1940s and 1950s. The WBNY identification is apparently also used by a shortwave pirate radio station, unrelated to the FCC-licensed FM station.
