Thomas Vano (born October 26, 1970, in Plainfield, New Jersey) is a former field hockey goalkeeper from the United States, who finished twelfth with the national squad at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.
Field hockey is a team sport structured in standard hockey format, in which each team plays with 11 players in total, made up of 10 field players and a goalkeeper. Teams must move a hockey ball around a field by hitting it with a hockey stick towards the rival team's shooting circle and then into the goal. The match is won by the team that scores the most goals. Matches are played on grass, watered turf, artificial turf, or indoor boarded surface.
Nicolaas Peter Vanos was an American professional basketball player for the Phoenix Suns of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The San Mateo, California, native was selected 32nd by the Suns in the 1985 NBA draft, after playing for Hillsdale High School and collegiately at Santa Clara University. He played for the Suns as a center on the team.

The 1987–88 Phoenix Suns season was the 19th season for the Phoenix Suns of the National Basketball Association and their first season under new ownership led by long-time associate and general manager Jerry Colangelo. The team was led by new head coach John Wetzel. Having missed the playoffs in each of the last two seasons, Suns management made a midseason trade with Cleveland in attempt to return the Suns to postseason play.
