The Tom Wilhelmsen Opera and Ballet Prize (Norwegian : Tom Wilhelmsens Opera og Ballettpris) is the main opera and ballet prize of Norway, awarded by the philanthropic Tom Wilhelmsen's Foundation (Tom Wilhelmsens Stiftelse) in honour of shipping magnate Tom Wilhelmsen (1911-1978) through a donation from the billionaire Wilhelmsen family, owners of Norway's largest shipping company Wilh. Wilhelmsen. It includes an annual monetary prize of over 50,000 euro. [1] [2] [3]

Spellemannprisen, often referred to as the Norwegian Grammy Awards in English, is a Norwegian music award presented to Norwegian musicians. The award was established by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), an organization that represents the interests of the recording industry worldwide. First awarded in 1973, the prize honours musicians from the previous year; it is still awarded annually, usually in January or February. The Spellemann committee, composed of members of IFPI Norway and FONO, manages the award and acts as the judge. 21 categories are currently awarded, in addition to other honorary and industry awards the committee may give. In 2020 and 2021, the award show was held digitally due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Det Norske Solistkor is a professional choral ensemble founded in Oslo in 1950 by the composer Knut Nystedt in collaboration with Kåre Siem. Nystedt conducted the group until 1990, when he was succeeded by Grete Pedersen. It is formed of today 26 singers, varied in performance depending on the literature.
