The Snipe is a 15+1⁄2 foot, 2 person, one design racing dinghy. Designed by William F. Crosby in 1931, it has evolved into a modern, tactical racing dinghy with fleets around the world. The class is governed by the Snipe Class International Racing Association (SCIRA) and recognized by the International Sailing Federation as an International Class sailed in 30 different countries. There have been over 31,000 Snipes constructed worldwide.
Robert Scheidt is a Brazilian sailor, who has won two gold medals, two silver medals and a bronze from five Olympic Games and a Star Sailors League Final. He is one of the most successful sailors at Olympic Games and one of the most successful Brazilian Olympic athletes, being one of only three to earn five medals along with fellow sailor Torben Grael., and the only sailor to win medals in both dinghy and keelboat classes.

Frank Joseph McLaughlin is a Canadian sailor. Frank was a three time Canadian under 19 Youth Champion and placed 8,9 and 5th in the World Youth Championships from 1977 to 1979. He won the International 14 World Championship in 1981 with John Millen in Annapolis Maryland. He won a bronze medal in the Flying Dutchman Class at the 1988 Summer Olympics with John Millen. He also finished 9th in the same category at the 1992 Summer Olympics and 15th at the 1984 Summer Olympics in the 470 class with Martin Tenhove. Frank and Martin won a bronze medal in the 470 class at the 1983 Pan American Games in Caracas Venezuela.
The Tufts Jumbos are the varsity intercollegiate athletic programs of Tufts University, in Medford, Massachusetts. The Jumbos compete in the NCAA Division III National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC). Tufts does not offer athletic scholarships.
