Enrique Roberto "Henry" Cuellar is an American attorney and politician serving as the U.S. representative for Texas's 28th congressional district since 2005. He is a member of the Democratic Party. His district extends from the Rio Grande to San Antonio's suburbs.

David Alameel,who came in first in the primary,won the runoff and became his party's nominee. In the general election,Cornyn defeated Alameel in a landslide.

He won the subsequent general election on November 6 over the Republican nominee Fernando Padron,32,375 votes to 13,612. Martinez Fischer returned to the House in January 2019.

A member of the Republican Party,he was the first Hispanic Republican Texas State Senator in Texas history,and he was the first Republican to be elected in District 19 since 1879 during the Reconstruction Era. In the 2020 election,Flores was defeated by his Democratic challenger. Flores won the Republican nomination for Texas State Senate District 24 on May 24,2022,defeating Raul Reyes by 60% to 40%.

As no candidate secured a majority of the vote,a runoff was held on June 8,2019,between the two top candidates,incumbent mayor Ron Nirenberg and San Antonio City Councilman Greg Brockhouse. In the runoff,Nirenberg narrowly defeated Brockhouse,51.11% to 48.89%.
Michelle Jane Beckley is a former Democratic member of the Texas House of Representatives from District 65. She was first elected in November 2018,defeating incumbent Republican Ron Simmons. Texas' 65th district represents parts of southern Denton County. She did not run for reelection in 2022. She instead ran for Lieutenant Governor of Texas in 2022. She was defeated by Mike Collier in the Democratic primary.
