Tony Bowers (born 31 October 1952) [1] [2] is an English musician based in Italy and Ireland who has worked with many bands, including Simply Red in the 1980s.
Bowers debuted in the blues band, Blind Eye (1971–1972), as second guitarist, although he is not considered a former member. [3] After playing in other blues bands, he joined Alberto Y Lost Trios Paranoias, with whom he played bass on every released album and single. Later, in 1978, he formed The Durutti Column, alongside guitarists Vini Reilly and Dave Rowbotham, and drummer Chris Joyce. After some gigs and the release of two songs on a various artists compilation called A Factory Sample , Bowers, Rowbotham, and Joyce left the band, forming The Mothmen with ex-Alberto Y Lost Trios Paranoias member Bob Harding. After Simply Red (1991) he collaborated with Barrington Stewart (DFreek), who, with Demo Morselli (an Italian trumpet player), formed Concrete Wig (the name dedicated to the late Roger Eagle, who was a major influence).[ citation needed ]
Barrington died in 2011. Bowers continues to play, write, collaborate and produce, including co-producing Ray Tarantino's debut album, Recusant. [5] which propelled Tarantino to No. 1 unsigned artist from the UK on Myspace, [6] topping the charts alongside Amy Winehouse and Gomez. [7]
Bowers played on and produced Who Stole The Sky in 2003 by Sainkho Namtchylak, [8] an album that was in the top three on BBC world music charts. He now lives in both Italy and Ireland, participating in various different projects, including tutoring, recording, and live performances with different artists including Blues Confidential, Fabio Fabbri, and Sorgente.[ citation needed ]
Lee Patrick Mastelotto is an American rock drummer and record producer. He has been a member of King Crimson, Stick Men, Mr. Mister and O.R.k., as well as working as a session drummer with XTC, The Pointer Sisters and The Rembrandts, among others. In addition, he has led or co-led other projects including Mastica, Tuner, TU and The Mastelottos.
Cream were a British rock band formed in London in 1966. The group consisted of bassist Jack Bruce, guitarist Eric Clapton and drummer Ginger Baker. Bruce was the primary songwriter and vocalist, although Clapton and Baker contributed to songs. Formed by members of previously successful bands, they are widely considered the first supergroup. Cream were highly regarded for the instrumental proficiency of each of their members.
Budgie were a Welsh heavy metal band from Cardiff. The band formed in 1967, and the following year recorded a demo; in 1971, their first album, produced by Rodger Bain, was released by MCA. The band, a classic power trio with the occasional keyboard player, released ten albums, with MCA, A&M, and RCA, between 1971 and 1982, attracting a fair number of fans and achieving modest commercial success.
John Symon Asher Bruce was a Scottish musician. He gained popularity as the primary lead vocalist and bassist of rock band Cream. After the group disbanded in 1968, he pursued a solo career and also played with several bands.
The Durutti Column are an English post-punk band formed in 1978 in Manchester, England. The band is a project of guitarist and occasional pianist Vini Reilly who is often accompanied by Bruce Mitchell on drums and Keir Stewart on bass, keyboards and harmonica. They were among the first acts signed to Factory Records by label founder Tony Wilson.

Alberto y Lost Trios Paranoias were an English comedy rock band, formed in Manchester, England in 1973. Their story is told in CP Lee's book When We Were Thin. The name of the band is a corruption of the Latin American band Alberto y Los Trios Paraguayos.
William Cox is an American bassist, best known for performing with Jimi Hendrix. Cox is the only surviving musician to have regularly played with Hendrix: first with the experimental group that backed Hendrix at Woodstock, followed by the trio with drummer Buddy Miles that recorded the live Band of Gypsys album, and, lastly, The Cry of Love Tour trio with Mitch Mitchell back on drums. Cox continues to perform dates with the Band of Gypsys Experience and the Experience Hendrix Tour.

The Invisible Girls were a British rock band, formed in Salford, Greater Manchester in 1978, to provide a musical backdrop to the recorded output of Salford punk poet John Cooper Clarke. The band's nucleus was Joy Division and New Order producer Martin Hannett and keyboardist Steve Hopkins, with contributions from, amongst others, Pete Shelley of Buzzcocks and Bill Nelson of Be-Bop Deluxe. The band also played on the first solo album by Pauline Murray, the eponymous Pauline Murray and the Invisible Girls and some singles, and later with Nico for the single "Procession".

Shortly before, the band members were involved with two known Manchester bands, guitarist/bassist Dave Rowbotham, bassist/guitarist Tony Bowers and drummer Chris Joyce with The Durutti Column and vocalist Bob Harding with Alberto Y Lost Trios Paranoias. Bowers also was member of Alberto Y Lost Trios Paranoias before The Durutti Column.

Geeza are an Australian rock band formed in late 1973 in Sydney by Tony Cini, Gabriel Vendetti, Martin Adamson, Allan Fraiel and Ian Webb. Early in their career they performed as The Geeza Rock'n'Roll Show. The current lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Terry Halliday, has led the band through several incarnations since 1975 with founding members Cini, Watts, Marshall and Webb departing. The remaining four members released Geeza's only album to date, Streetlife, in late 1977. The album spawned a top 100 single, "Run 'n' Hide" on the Australian Kent Music Report Singles Chart. The group disbanded in 1979, before being reformed by Halliday in 2010, as the sole member from their 1970s line-up.
Scott Law is an American singer-songwriter, record producer, and multi-instrumentalist known for his work with guitar and mandolin. Based in Portland, Oregon, he has been a professional musician since 1992, performing within genres such as rock, blues, bluegrass, and Americana with groups such as The String Cheese Incident. In 1999 Law founded Scott Law Music. After performing with numerous bands, Law released his first solo album as a singer-songwriter, Deliver with the Scott Law Band, in 2005. This was followed by several other albums, including the acoustic album Black Mountain in 2013.
