Glamorgan County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Glamorgan. Founded in 1888,Glamorgan held minor status at first and was a prominent member of the early Minor Counties Championship before the First World War. In 1921,the club joined the County Championship and the team was elevated to first-class status,subsequently playing in every top-level domestic cricket competition in England and Wales.
Malcolm Andrew Nash was a Welsh cricket player and coach. He played first-class cricket for Glamorgan. Nash was a left-arm medium-pace bowler and useful lower-order left-handed batsman. He made his debut for the county in 1966 and was released by the county after the 1983 season. He captained the county in 1980 and 1981. He took the most wickets for Glamorgan in 1969 when it won the county championship. In 1985,he played his last one-day match for Shropshire. Between 1966 and 1983 in his 17 years career,Nash took 993 first-class wickets,scored 7,129 runs and held 148 catches. He died on 30 July 2019 in London at the age of 74 years.
Garnett John-Peter Kruger is a South African cricketer. Kruger started his first-class cricket career in 1997–98 for Eastern Province B,moving up to the A team in 1999–2000. In 2003–04 he played for Gauteng,before moving to the Lions on the reorganisation of South African first-class cricket in 2004–05. Although he was called to the Test side in 2003–04,he did not make the final team. In 2005–06 he made his debut as an international cricketer,in the one-off Twenty20 International against Australia,and he also played in three One Day Internationals on the same tour.

Alviro Nathan Petersen is a former South African international cricketer who played domestic cricket in South Africa for the Highveld Lions and in England for Lancashire. A right-handed batsman,he has represented South Africa in Test,One Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 cricket. He was the captain of the Highveld Lions in South African domestic cricket.
Darren Ian Stevens is an English former professional cricketer who played for Leicestershire and Kent County Cricket Clubs between 1997 and 2022. An all-rounder,he played as right-handed batsman and bowled right-arm medium-pace deliveries. He scored over 16,000 first-class runs and after the age of 35 took more than 500 wickets and more than 30 five-wicket hauls. Stevens was named as one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year in the 2021 edition of the almanack.
Thomas Christopher Smith is a former English cricketer who played for Lancashire County Cricket Club. He had also been a member of the England Academy team. In 2008,he played for Leicestershire on loan because he was unable to break into Lancashire's first team. He is an all-rounder,bowling right-arm medium and batting left-handed. At the start of the 2009 season,Smith was promoted to open the batting,having previously batted in the lower order,and secured his place there. In 2011,the year Lancashire won the County Championship for the first time since 1950,Smith became the first Lancashire player to score a century and take four wickets in the same one-day match. In 2011/12 Smith played for the Matabeleland Tuskers in Zimbabwe as an overseas player in the domestic twenty20 competition.
Penrhyn Avenue is a cricket ground in Colwyn Bay,Wales. The ground was first used by the Glamorgan 1st XI in 1966,although County Championship matches have only been an annual fixture since 1990. In 2015,the ground hosted a County Championship match against Lancashire,during which Lancashire batsmen Ashwell Prince and Alviro Petersen put on a ground record partnership of 501 for the third wicket. The ground was most recently used by Glamorgan in 2019 for a County Championship match,against Lancashire. A proposed game in 2022 was moved to Cardiff and Glamorgan did not play at Penrhyn Avenue in 2023.
George Rodney Cass was an English cricketer:a wicket-keeper who played first-class cricket for Essex and Worcestershire in England,and for Tasmania in Australia,in the 1960s and 1970s. He was capped by Worcestershire in 1970. He was born at Overton,Wakefield,Yorkshire,and educated at Dewsbury Technical College.
Phillip Anthony Cottey is a Welsh former cricketer who played for Glamorgan,Sussex and Eastern Transvaal in a first-class career lasting 18 years. He was a right-hand batsman and right-arm off-spin bowler.

Christopher Paul Ashling is an English cricketer who coaches for the Cheshire Cricket Board following his release from Glamorgan. Born in Manchester,he is a right-handed batsman and bowls right-arm medium-fast.
Pieter Willem Adriaan Mulder,known as Wiaan Mulder,is a South African first-class cricketer. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut for South Africa in October 2017 and his Test debut in March 2019. In domestic cricket,Mulder plays for Imperial Lions and Gauteng. He was born in Johannesburg and educated at St Stithians College. He played age-group cricket for Gauteng from under-13 level onwards.

The 2020 Bob Willis Trophy was a first-class cricket tournament held in the 2020 English cricket season,and the inaugural edition of the Bob Willis Trophy. It was separate from the County Championship,which was not held in 2020 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom. The eighteen county cricket teams were split into three regional groups of six,with the two group winners with the most points advancing to a final held at Lord's. The maximum number of overs bowled in a day was reduced from 96 to 90,and the team's first innings could be no longer than 120 overs.
The 2020 Vitality Blast was the 2020 season of the t20 Blast,a professional Twenty20 cricket league being played in England and Wales. It was the third season in which the domestic T20 competition,run by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB),which was branded as the Vitality Blast due to the tournament's sponsorship deal. The tournament started on 22 July 2021,with the final taking place on 19 August 2021 at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. Somerset were the defending champions winning the 2019 tournament,with no tournament taking place in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2022 County Championship was the 122nd cricket County Championship season in England and Wales. The season began on 7 April and ended on 29 September 2022. Warwickshire were the defending champions.
