Tony DeSare (born 1976) is an American jazz singer, pianist and songwriter.


Early life

DeSare was born in Glens Falls, New York in 1976. [1] He began playing the piano as a young child, and had public performances in his late teens. [1] He kept performing locally during his studies at Ithaca College. [1]

Later life and career

DeSare moved to New York in 1998 and played in a hotel, then performed in an off-Broadway musical. [1] He met guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli, who helped his career develop. [1]

DeSare's debut album, Want You, was released by Telarc in 2005. [1] The material included standards, covers of lesser-known pieces, and originals. [2] It peaked at No. 43 on the Billboard jazz albums chart. [3]

DeSare's 2007 release Last First Kiss also included originals and standards, from Prince's "Kiss" and Carole King's "I Feel the Earth Move" to "Gee Baby Ain't I Good to You" and "How Deep Is the Ocean?" [4] It was featured on NPR's Weekend Edition Saturday [5] and reached No. 8 on the Billboard jazz albums chart. [3]

Telarc released Radio Show, which included standards and DeSare's originals, around 2009. [6] A Christmas album, Christmas Home, was released by AJD around 2016. [7]

Nature Boy 1948 song by Nat King Cole

"Nature Boy" is a song first recorded by American jazz singer Nat King Cole. It was released on March 29, 1948, as a single by Capitol Records, and later appeared on the album, The Nat King Cole Story. The song was written in 1947 by eden ahbez and is partly autobiographical. It is a tribute to ahbez's mentor Bill Pester, who had originally introduced him to Naturmensch and Lebensreform philosophies, which ahbez practiced. When Cole was performing in 1947 at the Lincoln Theater, ahbez wanted to present the song to him, but was ignored. He left the copy with Cole's valet, and from him the singer came to know of "Nature Boy". After receiving appreciation for his performance of the song, Cole wanted to record it but needed consent from the writer. Eventually, he tracked down ahbez.

You Make It Feel Like Christmas is the fourth studio album by American singer-songwriter Gwen Stefani. The album, which is Stefani's first full-length Christmas-themed album, was released on October 6, 2017, by Interscope Records. The record was executively produced by Stefani and Busbee, with additional production coming from Eric Valentine. The standard version of You Make It Feel Like Christmas contains twelve songs, featuring six original songs penned by Stefani, Busbee and Justin Tranter, and six cover versions of Christmas standards. While going on a nature walk near the Oklahoma ranch house belonging to boyfriend Blake Shelton, Stefani felt inspired to record a Christmas album and began writing what would later become "Christmas Eve". Recording sessions took place in the summer months of 2017; several of the tracks' titles leaked in August, leaving Stefani to confirm the project in September. The album's original songs make references to Stefani's newfound love and relationship with Shelton.
