Rob Rensenbrink was a Dutch footballer and member of the Netherlands national team that reached two World Cup finals in 1974 and 1978. A creative and prolific left winger or forward, he became a legend in Belgium whilst playing in the great Anderlecht side of the 1970s. He is the UEFA Cup Winners Cup's all-time top scorer, with 25 goals. A talented dribbler as well as a cool finisher and adequate passer, he only ever missed two penalties in his entire career. He was also the first winner of the Onze d'Or.

Maurice Martens was a Belgian football player, left-back, who won the Belgian Golden Shoe in 1973 while at Racing White. He played 26 times and scored 2 goals for the national team between 1971 and 1980, starting in a 1–0 friendly win against Luxembourg on 7 November 1971. Having been a non-playing squad member at the 1970 World Cup. Martens was part of the team for the 1972 and 1980 European Championships but he did not play a match in the latter. He was transferred from Anderlecht to Racing White in the summer of 1970. Competed on T.V.'s Superstars in 1976. He owned a sports shop whilst at R.W.D.
Erwin Vandendaele was a Belgian football player who won the Belgian Golden Shoe in 1971 while at Club Brugge. He played 32 times for the national team between 1970 and 1977, starting in a 1–2 friendly defeat to France on 15 November 1970. In the summer of 1974 Vandendaele moved to the rival Anderlecht. In 1976 he won the UEFA Super Cup with Anderlecht after a legendary 4-1 win in the second leg over FC Bayern Munich. After his football career Vandendaele founded a tennis club in his hometown Asper. Since 2005 he has been working as a talent scout for K.A.A. Gent.
Henrik Andersen is a Danish former football player, who played eight years at Belgian club RSC Anderlecht, with whom he won the 1983 UEFA Cup. He represented the Danish national team in 30 matches, and scored two goals. He represented Denmark at the 1986 World Cup and the triumphant Euro 1992 tournament, where he suffered a serious knee injury, during the semi-final.

The 2008–2009 Belgian financial crisis is a major financial crisis that hit Belgium from mid-2008 onwards. Two of the country's largest banks – Fortis and Dexia – started to face severe problems, exacerbated by the financial problems hitting other banks around the world. The value of their stocks plunged. Eurostadium was a proposed stadium in Grimbergen, Belgium, just north of Brussels. It would have had a capacity of 62,613. In June 2015, the building deadline was set for 2019. It would have hosted matches for UEFA Euro 2020, and would have become the home ground of the national football team of Belgium.
