Tony Meredith is an American professional ballroom dancer, choreographer and United States Professional Latin Champion.
Tony Meredith, who is of Mexican and Samoan descent, was born in San Diego, California, US, discovered ballroom dancing after replying to a newspaper advertisement seeking dance teachers. [1] His cousin taught him how to Hustle in the garage which ignited his love of dancing.
Meredith currently serves as the Dance Director at Danceville, U.S.A. in Columbus, Ohio. He is the co-organizer of Chicago Crystal Ball, Aloha Ball, and founded ICON DanceSport, a one-day industry awards event in Columbus, Ohio making its debut in October 2015.
Meredith met Melanie LaPatin in 1981. They formed a professional partnership, traveling the world representing the United States twelve times in the Professional World Latin-American Dance Championships, and eventually moved to New York City to train and open a studio. [2] They had married in 1989, but divorced amicably following the opening of their studio. [3]
With LaPatin, Meredith won over 100 first-place trophies and, in 1995, the professional Latin division of the U.S. Dancesport Championships. [4] The couple retired from competitive dance in 1998.
Currently,[ when? ] Meredith is a ballroom dance competition adjudicator, coach and choreographer, with a wide range including cha-cha, swing, tango, hustle, mambo, salsa and rhythm and blues.[ citation needed ]

Meredith has been behind the scenes as appearing in films, TV shows and Broadway, including feature film performances in Dance with Me , The Thomas Crown Affair , Let It Be Me and The Last Days of Disco. He has co-hosted seasons 1 and 2 of the PBS series America's Ballroom Challenge with Marilu Henner, and more recently, Meredith and LaPatin have appeared fairly regularly as guest choreographers on the Fox dance competition reality show So You Think You Can Dance . Meredith just finished filming Season 5 of the PBS series America's Ballroom Challenge with Mary Murphy.

Nick Kosovich is a professional ballroom dancer specializing in American Smooth and International Ten Dance. Kosovich resides in Los Angeles. He is currently appearing in the "Second Dance World Championship" in Mexico City for the "Televisa" Company. He is the representative judge for Team USA. He retired from competition dancing in 2005; however, he has achieved many awards in his career. Kosovich, an internationally respected figure in the ballroom world, competed for 36 years. He competed in seven Professional World Championship events, won the United States American Smooth Championships and finished second in the 2004/5 World Classic Showdance Championships.
Maksim Aleksandrovich Chmerkovskiy is an American Latin–ballroom dance champion, choreographer, and instructor. He is widely known as one of the professional dancers on the American television series Dancing with the Stars, on which he first appeared in season two. In his 17 seasons as a competing pro on the show, Chmerkovskiy made it to the final round five times, with two runner-up and two third-place finishes. On May 20, 2014, Chmerkovskiy, paired with Olympic ice dancer Meryl Davis, won his first Dancing with the Stars title. Chmerkovskiy has also starred in the Broadway productions of dance shows Burn the Floor and Forever Tango.

LaPatin eventually moved to back to New York to coach and open a Latin and Ballroom dance studio, Dance Times Square.
Alejandro Lazo is a Cuban-American professional dancer, instructor, and choreographer based in Palm Beach, Florida. Lazo was the US International Rising Star Latin Champion in 1990 and went on through over twenty years of successful DanceSport competition. This cumulated in 1999 when he became the U.S. Nine-Dance Champion. He has appeared numerous times in television and theater in various capacities, and has also transitioned into the world of broadcast media as a spokesperson, guest host, and artist. He hosted several national PBS specials including "WXEL Presents", "Tango: The Spirit of Argentina", and "Fiesta at the Philharmonic".
Leading Ladies is a 2010 dance film directed by Daniel Beam and Erika Randall Beahm and starring Benji Schwimmer, Melanie LaPatin, Laurel Vail, Shannon Lea Smith, and Nicole Dionne. The film features an overbearing ballroom stage mother and her two daughters who must redefine their roles in life, and on the dance floor. The film also features dance scenes with finalists from season 3 and season 4 of the American version of So You Think You Can Dance: Katee Shean, Kherington Payne, Courtney Galiano, and Sara Von Gillern.
