The Individual Visit Scheme begun on 28 July 2003 allowing travelers from Mainland China to visit Hong Kong and Macau on an individual basis; prior to the Scheme, Mainland residents could only visit on business visas or on group tours.

Asia Tour 2007 A: Tour of Secret is the first Asia-wide and ninth overall concert tour held by Japanese singer Ayumi Hamasaki, in support of her album Secret (2006). The tour started March 10, 2007, and ended in mid June of the same year, with legs not only in Japan but in other Asian countries as well, making it Hamasaki's first concert tour with non-domestic stops.

The Shanghai Cricket Club is a cricket club based in Shanghai, China. The club dates back to 1858 when the first recorded cricket match was played between a team of British naval officers and a Shanghai XI. The original Shanghai Cricket Club ceased activities in 1948.

Cheung King Lok is a Hong Kong professional racing cyclist, who most recently rode for UCI Continental team HKSI Pro Cycling Team. He rode at the 2015 UCI Track Cycling World Championships. He competed in the 2010 and 2014 Asian Games and won several medals. He joined Orica–GreenEDGE as a neo-pro in mid-2016, remaining with the team until the end of 2017, before returning to UCI Continental level with HKSI Pro Cycling Team.

Team Konica Minolta–Bizhub was a South African cycling team that participated in the UCI Continental Circuits, primarily in the UCI Africa Tour, from 2005 until the end of the 2009 season. The team's main sponsor was Japanese technology company Konica Minolta. Notable former riders include four-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome, who rode for the team in 2007.

The 2018 Tour of Chongming Island was the twelfth staging of the Tour of Chongming Island, a women's stage race held in Shanghai, China. It ran from 26 to 28 April 2018, as the 10th event of the 2018 UCI Women's World Tour. German rider Charlotte Becker won the event ahead of Australian Shannon Malseed and Russian Anastasiia Iakovenko. Becker moved into the lead after she won stage 2 in a five-woman sprint.
