Tove Elisabeth Kvammen Midelfart (born 2 August 1951) [1] is a Norwegian lawyer and businesswoman. Following the death in 1995 of her husband, Finn-Erik Midelfart, she inherited a large share of the assets of his cosmetics company Midelfart & Co. In addition, succeeding in her husband's position, she was appointed honorary consul for Monaco in Oslo by her friend Prince Rainier. [2] Midelfart has also served on the boards of companies including Midsona Norge and Narvesen ASA. [3]

In view of her ownership of a country house on the little island of Furuholmen in Oslofjord, Midelfart is also known as the Queen of Oslofjord (Oslofjordens dronning). She purchased the island in 1998 for some NOK 15 million but it was subsequently valued as being worth far more. [4]

In 2015, Midelfart was estimated to be one of Norway's richest women with a capital of over NOK 240 million. [5]

Oslofjord Inlet in South-East Norway

The Oslofjord is an inlet in the south-east of Norway, stretching from an imaginary line between the Torbjørnskjær and Færder lighthouses and down to Langesund in the south to Oslo in the north. It is part of the Skagerrak strait, connecting the North Sea and the Kattegat sea area, which leads to the Baltic Sea. The Oslofjord is not a fjord in the geological sense — in Norwegian the term fjord can refer to a wide range of waterways.

Vestfold Line

The Vestfold Line is a 137.79-kilometer (85.62 mi) railway line which runs between Drammen and Eidanger in Norway. The line connects to the Drammen Line at the northern terminus at Drammen Station and continues as the Bratsberg Line past Skien Station. The line is exclusively used for passenger trains, which are provided by the Norwegian State Railways, which connect northwards to Oslo and south-westwards to Grenland. The 13-kilometer (8.1 mi) section from Eidanger to Skien is often colloquially included in the Vestfold Line.The standard gauge line is electrified at 15 kV  16.7 Hz AC and has twelve remaining stations. The Vestfold Line runs through the coastal region of Vestfold and serves major towns including Holmestrand, Tønsberg, Sandefjord and Larvik, as well as Sandefjord Airport, Torp.

Viking Stadion

Viking Stadion, is a football stadium in Stavanger, Norway. It was inaugurated in May 2004 and cost 160 million NOK to build. 50 million NOK, plus the lot it was built on, was a gift from the municipality. It replaced Stavanger Stadion as the home stadium of Viking FK.

Oslofjord Tunnel

The Oslofjord Tunnel is a subsea road tunnel which traverses the Oslofjord, connecting Hurum and Frogn in Norway. Carrying three lanes, the 7,306-meter (23,970 ft) long tunnel reaches a depth of 134 meters (440 ft) below mean sea level. The tunnel has a maximum gradient of seven percent. It acts as the main link connecting eastern and western Viken county, supplementing the Moss–Horten Ferry which runs further south. The tunnel is since 2018 a part of European route E134, until 2018 it was part of National Road 23.

Color Air Former Norwegian airline

Color Air AS was the first Norwegian low-cost airline. It operated from Oslo Airport, Gardermoen in 1998 and 1999 with a fleet of three Boeing 737-300 aircraft. Color Air was a brand extension of Color Line, which shared a common owner in the Olav Nils Sunde-controlled Color Group. The airline operated five daily round trips from Oslo to Trondheim and Bergen, four to Ålesund and one to London, in addition to a weekly trip to Alicante. Color Air pioneered the low-cost business model in Norway, with a denser seating, no frills and lack of a frequent flyer program. Tickets were sold only via the Internet, by telephone or in supermarkets; when bought from travel agents, there was a 200 kr surcharge.

Nesodden–Bundefjord Dampskipsselskap

Nesodden–Bundefjord Dampskipsselskap, Nesoddbåtene or NBDS is a Norwegian shipping company that operates the passenger ferry in Oslofjord. The company has six ships, of which two are high-speed, and has 50 employees. The company has 2.7 million passengers annually. The primary function is to transport people between Nesodden and Oslo. Nesodden is a suburb across the fjord of Oslo and the ferry service is the fastest way between the two places.

The Oslo Opera House is the home of the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet, and the national opera theatre in Norway. The building is situated in the Bjørvika neighbourhood of central Oslo, at the head of the Oslofjord. It is operated by Statsbygg, the government agency which manages property for the Norwegian government. The structure contains 1,100 rooms in a total area of 49,000 m2 (530,000 sq ft). The main auditorium seats 1,364 and two other performance spaces can seat 200 and 400. The main stage is 16 m (52 ft) wide and 40 m (130 ft) deep. The angled exterior surfaces of the building are covered with marble from Carrara, Italy and white granite and make it appear to rise from the water. It is the largest cultural building constructed in Norway since Nidarosdomen was completed circa 1300.

Gressholmen Airport Airport in Gressholmen, Oslo

Gressholmen Airport was a water aerodrome situated the island of Gressholmen in Oslo, Norway. It served as the main airport for Oslo from 1927 to 1939, along with Kjeller Airport. The aerodrome consisted of docks, a landing ramp, terminal building and a hangar and used a section of the Oslofjord as its runway. Being located on an island it was necessary to transport passengers by boat to the island. The airport only operated during the summer, typically from May through September.

Moss–Horten Ferry

The Moss–Horten Ferry is an automobile ferry on Norwegian National Highway 19 that connects the counties of Vestfold og Telemark and Viken at the quays of Moss and Horten. The 10.5 kilometres (6.5 mi) crossing of Oslofjord is performed with three double-ended ferries operated by Bastø Fosen, making the crossing in 30 minutes, with departures twice an hour. In 2008 the line had a daily ridership of 3720 people and 4086 vehicles. It is the most trafficked car ferry line in Norway.

SS <i>Dronning Maud</i> (1925)

SS Dronning Maud was a 1,489 ton steel-hulled steamship built in 1925 by the Norwegian shipyard Fredrikstad Mekaniske Verksted in Fredrikstad. Dronning Maud was ordered by the Trondheim-based company Det Nordenfjeldske Dampskipsselskap for the passenger and freight service Hurtigruten along the coast of Norway. She served this route as the company flagship until she was sunk under controversial circumstances during the 1940 Norwegian Campaign.

Norwegian National Road 23

National Road 23, also known as the Oslofjord Link, was the name of a 40.2 kilometers (25.0 mi) largely limited-access road which connects the municipalities of Lier, Røyken, Hurum and Frogn in Norway. The 7.2-kilometer (4.5 mi) Oslofjord Tunnel causes the road to acts as the only fixed link crossing of the Oslofjord and makes that section subject to tolls. In 2018 the road was renamed into European route E134.

Marianne Heien Blystad is a Norwegian economist and lawyer. She has served as an attorney with Nordia DA, Bull & Co., Blysted Shipping, and Citibank and currently works for the law firm Ro Sommernes Advokatfirma DA in Oslo. In 2008, she appeared on the list of Norway's most powerful women.
