Tracey Johnston-Aldworth is a Canadian businesswoman and entrepreneur, based in the Waterloo region of Ontario, who is known for her public service [10] and environmental activism. [11] [12] Her firm Traces Printing, [13] founded in 1985 and emphasizing employee profit-sharing, [2] was lauded for its efforts to recycle materials, reduce energy consumption, save water, and use ink efficiently. [14] [15] She was recognized by the Government of Ontario for her work promoting environmentalism and sustainability. [14] Her firm was featured in a 1995 documentary Stop Waste From Adding Up. Christina Petrowska Quilico is a Canadian pianist. She is a professor emerita, senior scholar at York University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She was appointed to the Order of Canada in 2020 "For her celebrated career as a classical and contemporary pianist and for championing Canadian music." In 2021, she was named a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. In 2022, she was appointed to the Order of Ontario for having "opened the ears of music lovers internationally through numerous classical and contemporary performances.... As a Professor of Musicology and Piano at York University, she has received esteemed research awards. As a benefactor, she established The Christina and Louis Quilico Award at the Ontario Arts Foundation and the Canadian Opera Company." She was presented with the Ontario Arts Council's Oskar Morawetz Award for Excellence in Music Performance, "recognizing talent and commitment to Canadian music", in October 2023.

The Waterloo Busker Carnival is a not-for-profit, volunteer operated buskers festival in Waterloo, Ontario, where families from Waterloo, Kitchener, Guelph, Cambridge, and communities in the Region of Waterloo are treated to street performances by buskers from Canada and around the world. Started in 1989, the carnival is now considered to be one of the premier busker carnivals not just in Canada but around the world. Nearly 80 thousand people attend the 4-day event held during the last week in August.

Jane Brewer (1924-2017) was a Canadian politician and a former mayor of the city of Cambridge, Ontario. Brewer was born April 15, 1924, to Jack and Clara Davison. Her political career began in 1978 when she was elected a ward alderman. She went on to serve as the mayor of Cambridge from 1988 to 2000. Her political career spanned 36 years during which time she also served as a Region of Waterloo councillor. In addition to political endeavors Brewer was an active member of the Lutheran Church, serving as the director of the Canadian section of the Lutheran Church of America and as vice-president of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada's Eastern Synod.
