Tracy Anderson (born March 3, 1975) [1] is an American fitness entrepreneur and author. She is best known for her Tracy Anderson Method and for having various celebrity clients. [2] [3] [4]

Early life and career

The daughter of dance instructor Diana Ephlin, [5] Anderson trained in dance from an early age in Noblesville, Indiana. She initially hoped to become a professional dancer in New York City. After a 40 lb. weight gain during her first year in New York City, Anderson switched her focus to weight loss/fitness training as a career. Anderson has gym locations in Los Angeles, New York City, The Hamptons, Spain and London and has a DVD collection for at-home training. In 2015, Tracy Anderson launched an online fitness program called TA Video Streaming. Each week, subscribers receive new workouts filmed in real-time at one of her studios. The online streaming workouts are divided into beginner (sTArt), intermediate (fundamenTAl) and advanced (atTAin). [ citation needed ]

She issued a pregnancy workout DVD collection aimed at women in the pre-and-postnatal periods. [6]

Critical reviews

In an April 2015 article in The Washington Post, personal trainer Kat Whitfield asserts that Anderson's methods "certainly don’t follow exercise physiology principles." [7]

Personal life

Tracy Anderson married basketball player Eric Anderson in 1998 and their son Sam was born that same year. The couple divorced in 2008. Eric Anderson died in 2018. [8] [9] [10] [11]

On September 27, 2011, she married Matthew Mogol. Their daughter, Penelope, was born in May 2012. [12] In 2013, Anderson and Mogol split. [13] According to ExtraTv, Matthew Mogol died on July 20, 2020, at the age of 48 after a battle with cancer. [14]

In 2016, Anderson began dating Scottish-born hedge fund manager Nicholas Riley. They announced their engagement in early 2018 on Instagram. [15] In April 2018, sources reported that Riley had called off their engagement. [16]

Sometime in 2018, Anderson began dating Chris Asplundh. They got engaged in March 2020 when Asplundh proposed at Anderson's 45th birthday party. The couple married in 2021. [17]

Jane Fonda's Workout, also known as Workout Starring Jane Fonda, is a 1982 exercise video by actress Jane Fonda, based on an exercise routine developed by Leni Cazden and refined by Cazden and Fonda at Workout, their exercise studio in Beverly Hills. The video release by Karl Home Video and RCA Video Productions was aimed primarily at women as a way to exercise at home. The video was part of a series of exercise products: Jane Fonda's Workout Book was released in November 1981, and both Jane Fonda's Workout video tape and Jane Fonda's Workout Record, published as a double-LP vinyl album, appeared in late April 1982. In July 1982, Fonda's exercise video was released on RCA SelectaVision videodisc. The VHS tape became a bestseller, and Fonda released further videos throughout the 1980s and into 1995. The video also increased the sales of video players.

Kathy Kaehler is an American fitness professional, personal trainer, and author. An inductee at the National Fitness Hall of Fame, she is known for training prolific Hollywood celebrities in the 1990s and early 2000s, including Julia Roberts, Jennifer Aniston, Cindy Crawford, Michelle Pfeiffer, and the Kardashian family. She previously served as a fitness correspondent for NBC's Today show for 13 years. Kaehler has also authored several fitness and lifestyle books, such as Primetime Bodies and Real World Fitness. She is the mother of actor Cooper Koch, film editor Payton Koch, and musician Walker Koch.
