Transition Extreme is a sports facility in Queens Links, Aberdeen. It is run by a charity. [1]

The idea for Transition Skatepark and Extreme Sports Centre was conceived by Mr Neil Stevenson while he and his family lived in Houston, Texas between 2001-2003. Both of Mr Stevenson's children are avid skateboarders and, while in the US, had access to the world-class facilities offered by VANS skate parks and others. On returning to Aberdeen the subject of skateboarding facilities was extremely high profile with Aberdeen City Council, with several outdoor and temporary parks under discussion and a formal consultation underway between the Council and local enthusiasts. In addition, a temporary outdoor skate park erected at the beach during the summers of 2001-2003 had enjoyed tremendous attendance – with approximately 4000 visitors attending during 2003.
The idea of an integrated extreme sports centre was developed following the review of the Council's formal Community Plan – which clearly sets out the objectives for the city and its citizens – together with discussions with the Visit Aberdeenshire/Visitscotland. Thus the idea of year round indoor facilities for both climbing and skateboarding/BMX was developed, as well as providing a “shop window” for the other extreme sports and tremendous facilities of the North East of Scotland. They are continuing to build on this idea as part of the Scottish Enterprise and Opportunity North East project in 2022 and beyond.
It was officially opened in May 2007 by Prince Andrew, Duke of York, though the centre opened to the public the previous month. [3] A ropes course was added later. [4]
In 2021, Aberdeen City Council proposed that the planned Aberdeen stadium could be built at the beach, perhaps occupying where Transition Extreme stands today, as well as the nearby closed DoubleTree Hilton hotel. [5]
The centre, which cost £2.7 million to build, [3] contains a skatepark, a climbing wall, and a cafe, all situated indoors. [6] A ropes course is situated outdoors. [4]

The new Aberdeen stadium is a football stadium under construction in Kingswells, Aberdeen, Scotland. The new stadium, called Kingsford Stadium, will be the home of Scottish Premiership club Aberdeen FC and will replace the existing Pittodrie Stadium. The development, which is 10.4 kilometres (6.5 mi) to the west of Aberdeen city centre, received planning approval from Aberdeen City Council in January 2018. Construction began in July 2018, with the first phase, a training facility named Cormack Park, opened in October 2019. The stadium had been scheduled for completion by 2023, but in the midst of disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in Scotland, the club confirmed that the project had been put on hiatus, and in 2021 alternative designs at the city's beachfront close to Pittodrie were released.
Reedville Creek Park is a municipal park in the Reedville neighborhood of Hillsboro, Oregon, United States. Opened in 2003, the 9.6-acre (39,000 m2) park is along Cornelius Pass Road at Francis Street in the southeast area of the city. The park includes basketball courts, children’s play equipment, a picnic shelter, tennis courts, and sports fields among other amenities. Reedville Creek was the first and is the only park in Hillsboro with a skatepark.

Skateboarding arrived in China in April 1986 when an American skateboarder arrived in China to study Chinese at the Beijing Language Institute. He says, "When I arrived in China, there wasn't even a word in Chinese for skateboard. People were really interested in learning to ride, and in a few years Chinese skaters started appearing in almost every city I travelled to". Domestic skate companies and retailers began to appear at around the turn of the century, bringing the average price for a skateboard of ordinary quality down from an expensive 1000 yuan to around 280 yuan as of 2009. Harlow Town Park is a 164-acre (66 ha) Grade II listed public park located in Harlow, Essex, England. It includes multiple gardens, a petting zoo named the Pets' Corner, a bandstand, and the Spurriers House Café. Opened in 1957, it was listed by Historic England on 18 August 2020. Other Grade II listed buildings also sit within the boundaries of the park and include 6 School Lane, Greyhound Public House, Hill Hall Farmhouse, Hoppitts, and Marshgate Farmhouse; these buildings range in age from the 16th to the late 19th censuries.
