Chandigarh is a union territory and planned city in northern India, serving as the shared capital of the surrounding states, namely Punjab to the north, west and the south, and Haryana to the east. Chandigarh constitutes the bulk of the Chandigarh Capital Region or Greater Chandigarh, which also includes the adjacent satellite cities of Panchkula in Haryana and Mohali in Punjab. It is situated near the foothills of the Himalayas, 260 km north of New Delhi and 229 km southeast of Amritsar.
Krishan Kant was an Indian politician who served as the tenth vice president of India from 1997 until his death 2002. Formerly, he was the governor of Andhra Pradesh from 1990 to 1997. He was a member of Lok Sabha from Chandigarh (1977–1980), and Member of Rajya Sabha from Haryana.

Mata Mansa Devi is a Hindu temple dedicated to goddess Mansa Devi, a form of Shakti, in the Panchkula district of the Indian state of Haryana. Randeep Singh Surjewala is an Indian politician from Haryana and a member of Indian National Congress party. He was an MLA in the Haryana state legislature until 2019 and a former minister. He held water supply and sanitation, parliamentary affairs, electronics and information technology, science and technology and public works as a minister in Haryana cabinet. In 2005, he was given the responsibility of Transport and Parliamentary Affairs and thus became the youngest minister in Haryana. He defeated Om Prakash Chautala in 1996 and 2005. As of December 2017, Surjewala is one of the official spokespersons of Indian National Congress party, and as of September 2021, is a General Secretary of the Indian National Congress and Party in-charge for Karnataka. In the biennial elections of the Rajya Sabha for the State of Rajasthan, held on 10 June 2022, Mr. Surjewala was elected as a Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, with his term to start on 5 July 2022.
Chandigarh Airport, also known as Shaheed Bhagat Singh Airport, is a customs airport serving the union territory of Chandigarh, India. The airport is located in Jhiurheri, Punjab. The airport caters to six domestic airlines and connects Chandigarh to 17 domestic destinations and 2 international destinations. It is named after the renowned freedom fighter, Bhagat Singh.
Chandigarh Metro is an approved rapid transit system in the Chandigarh Capital Region which includes Chandigarh city and adjacent areas in Punjab and Haryana states of India. In phase-1, to be progressively built & operationalised between 2027 to 2037, 3 lines will connect tri-cities of Chandigarh, Mohali in Punjab and Panchkula in Haryana. Phase-2, to be constructed after 2037, will connect Pinjore in Haryana and further expand the network in Mohali. The project, which was initially scrapped in 2017 due to low financial viability, was later approved in March 2023 and received formal clearances in July 2023 from the governments of Punjab and Haryana after a detailed project plan (DPR) was created.

Rattan Lal Kataria was an Indian politician from Haryana. He served as the Minister of State in the Ministry of Jal Shakti and Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment till 7 July 2021. He was a member of the 16th Lok Sabha. He was elected to 16th Lok Sabha from Ambala as a candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party with 612,121 votes out of 1,220,121 total, defeating INC candidate Raj Kumar Balmiki. Previously, he was elected to 13th Lok Sabha from Ambala as a candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He was also a member of the Haryana Legislative Assembly from 1987 to 1991, representing the Radaur Assembly constituency. He was born on 19 December 1951, and educated at Kurukshetra University.
Krishan Pal Gurjar is an Indian politician and is the present Minister of State of Power and Heavy Industries. As a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha, he represents the Faridabad constituency in the state of Haryana. He won this seat in the 2014 Indian general election as a BJP candidate by a margin of 4,66,873 votes and he won election with margin of over 6 lakh in 2019 from Faridabad constituency.

Chaudhary Bansi Lal University (CBLU) is a state university in the city of Bhiwani, Haryana. Established in 2014 the university offers postgraduate courses in various disciplines. CBLU is to the west of Delhi at a distance of 125 km and south of Chandigarh at a distance of 285 km. MDU Rohtak is at a distance of 52 km from CBLU. The nick name of the university is Sea-Blue.
The Jat reservation agitation was a series of violent protests in February 2016 by the Jat people of North India, especially those in the state of Haryana, which "paralysed" the state for 10 days. The protestors sought inclusion of their caste in the Other Backward Class (OBC) category, which would make them eligible for affirmative action benefits. Besides Haryana, the protests also spread to the neighbouring states, such as Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and the National Capital Region.

Manohar Lal Khattar became the BJP's first Chief Minister of Haryana after his swearing-in ceremony on 26 October 2014. On 27 October 2019, Khattar was sworn in as the chief minister for the second time, after making an alliance with Dushyant Chautala's Jannayak Janta Party post 2019 Haryana Legislative Assembly election.
