Transweb Educational Services, founded in 2007 by Aditya Singhal and Nishant Sinha, is an online tutoring and educational website. [1] [2] The website provides educational resources to students from grade 4 to university level, through its five websites. [3]
Transweb comprises five websites: askIITians, eMedicalPrep, Transtutors, Transwebtutors and Mycollegeabroad.
A number of these websites provide services such as virtual classrooms, with text chat, audio chat and shared whiteboards. [8] [9] [10]
AskIITians is in collaboration with the Rajiv Gandhi Navodaya school in Dehradun, Uttarakhand to provide "three-month free coaching for preparing engineering and medical examinations" to students, utilising an "online base [with] live, interactive classrooms by the institute." [11] [12] [13] Rural students of RGNV get free education, boarding and lodging facility and around 150 students get online assistance in evening after the school is over. [14]
Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur is a public institute of technology and research university an autonomous institute, established by the Government of India in Kharagpur, West Bengal. Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee is a technical university located in Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India. It is the oldest engineering institution in India, and was founded as the College of Civil Engineering in North-Western Provinces in 1847 by the Lieutenant-Governor, James Thomason, in order to train officers and surveyors employed in the construction of the Ganges Canal. In 1854 , after the completion of the canal and Thomason's death, it was renamed the Thomason College of Civil Engineering by Proby Cautley, the designer and projector of the canal. It was renamed University of Roorkee in 1949, and again renamed IIT Roorkee in 2001. The institution has 22 academic departments covering Engineering, Applied Sciences, Humanities & Social Sciences and Management programs with an emphasis on scientific and technological education and research.

Joint Entrance Examination – Advanced (JEE-Advanced), is an academic examination held annually in India that tests the skills and knowledge of the applicants in physics, chemistry and maths. It is organised by one of the seven zonal IITs under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board (JAB) on a round-robin rotation pattern for the qualifying candidates of the JEE-Main. Joint Entrance Examination – Main (JEE-Main), formerly All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE), is an Indian standardised computer-based test for admission to various technical undergraduate programs in engineering, architecture, and planning across colleges in India. The exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency for admission to B.Tech, B.Arch, etc. programs in premier technical institutes such as the National Institutes of Technology (NIT) and Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIIT), which are based on the rank secured in the JEE-Main. Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology is a Govt. of India established (1989) deemed university under Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 for higher education and research in India. Super 30 is an Indian educational programme started in Patna, India under the banner of Ramanujan School of Mathematics. It was founded by Anand Kumar, a mathematics teacher. The programme selects 30 talented candidates each year from economically underprivileged sections of Indian society and trains them for the JEE. The programme is portrayed in the 2019 film, Super 30, starring Hrithik Roshan as Anand Kumar, and his school, have been the subject of several smear campaigns, some of which have been carried in Indian media sources.

The website was shut down in 2013 following closure of the company's Toronto headquarters. The site offered test preparation tools, a university program directory, student counselling and a career network. In May 2010, LearnHub became the 30th most visited website in India. In June 2011 Learnhub was 13th most visited site in India and the most popular education website in India. This success was highly cyclical and was a result of the traffic spikes in May/June when Indian students were using the vast free test prep database housed on the site. As of December 2012, LearnHub closed its Toronto office and stopped updating its website, Twitter and Facebook pages, suggesting that the company was no longer operating. In April 2013, Top Hat Monocle announced that LearnHub co-founder and former CEO Malgosia Green became the company's new Chief Product Officer.
Two major engineering entrance examinations are used for admission to engineering institutes across India, Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) and All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). In 2010, a proposal for a common engineering entrance examination was made by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. The proposal has gone through several names and formats, and is expected to enter use in 2024. Yet, the common entrance exam for all engineering courses in India has not become effective, even for academic year 2021–22.
