Travarus Bennett (born 1979 in Rosedale, Mississippi) is a basketball player who has played professionally in Europe and the North American minor leagues. He played collegiately at the University of Minnesota.

Bennett transferred to the Golden Gophers after playing his first two years a junior college affiliated with Southwest Missouri State. In his senior season, he led the Big Ten in steals, finished second in three point percentage and was named the Big Ten's Co-Defensive Player of the Year, and Honorable Mention All BigTen in 2002.

In his first season in Germany, he averaged 18 pts, 6 rebs, 2 stls, and 3 assists for USC Heidelberg. His second season in Germany was in Tübingen, with Walter Tigers....

Vermont Frost Heaves sports team

The Vermont Frost Heaves were a professional basketball team in Vermont, United States, that last played in the Premier Basketball League, last coached by Joe Salerno. The formation of the team was announced in December 2005 by founding owner Alexander Wolff, a Cornwall, Vermont, resident and writer for Sports Illustrated. The Heaves were originally part of the American Basketball Association from 2006 through 2008. They were the ABA Champions in the 2006–07 and the 2007–2008 seasons, under head coach Will Voigt.

2008 Minnesota Golden Gophers football team

The 2008 Minnesota Golden Gophers football team was the second under head coach Tim Brewster. They began play on August 30, 2008 at home against Northern Illinois from the Mid-American Conference, and finished the regular season against Iowa, on November 22. It was the Golden Gophers' final season in the Metrodome, as they moved into TCF Bank Stadium in 2009. The Gophers accepted a bid to the Insight Bowl and played Kansas on December 31 at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona.

Richard Pitino American college basketball coach

Richard William Pitino is the head coach of the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers men's basketball team. He is the son of former Louisville head coach Rick Pitino. After attending St. Sebastian's School in Needham, Massachusetts, Richard Pitino earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history at Providence College in 2005. During his time at Providence, Pitino was the manager for the Friars men's basketball team under Tim Welsh. For two years, he also served as an assistant basketball coach for Saint Andrew's School in nearby Barrington, Rhode Island.

During her career, she was a finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Award, and she was selected to the Western Collegiate Hockey Association women's team of the decade in the 2000s. After her playing career, she has coached for the University of St. Thomas and the Minnesota Whitecaps.

The 1992–93 Georgetown Hoyas men's basketball team represented Georgetown University in the 1992–93 NCAA Division I basketball season. John Thompson, Jr., coached them in his 21st season as head coach. They played their home games at the Capital Centre in Landover, Maryland, except for two games at McDonough Gymnasium on the Georgetown campus in Washington, D.C.. They were members of the Big East Conference and finished the season with a record of 20-13, 8-10 in Big East play. They advanced to the quarterfinals of the 1993 Big East Men's Basketball Tournament before losing to Seton Hall. Not invited to the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament for the first time since the 1977-78 season, breaking a string of 14 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, they participated in the 1993 National Invitation Tournament (NIT) – their first NIT appearance since 1978 – and became the first team in Georgetown men's basketball history to advance to the NIT final, which they lost to Minnesota.

The 2014 Minnesota Golden Gophers football team represented the University of Minnesota in the 2014 NCAA Division I FBS football season. They were led by fourth-year head coach Jerry Kill and played their home games at TCF Bank Stadium. They were a member of the West Division of the Big Ten Conference. They finished the season 8–5, 5–3 in Big Ten play to finish in a tie for second place in the West Division. They were invited to the Citrus Bowl where they lost to Missouri. It was their first New Year's Day bowl game appearance in 53 years, their previous was the 1962 Rose Bowl.

They finished the season 8–23, 2–16 in Big Ten play to finish in 13th place. They lost in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament to Illinois.

The 2016–17 Minnesota Golden Gophers men's basketball team represented the University of Minnesota in the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Gophers, led by fourth-year head coach Richard Pitino, were members of the Big Ten Conference and played their home games at Williams Arena in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They finished the season 24–10, 11–7 in Big Ten play to finish in fourth place. In the Big Ten Tournament, they beat Michigan State in the quarterfinals before losing to Michigan in the semifinals. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament as a No. 5 seed. The bid marked their first trip to the Tournament since 2013. In the First Round, they lost to No. 12-seeded Middle Tennessee.

Reggie Lynch basketball player (1994-)

Reggie Lynch is an American basketball player for Kalev of the Estonian Korvpalli Meistriliiga and the VTB United League. He played college basketball for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. He transferred from Illinois State in 2015 and sat out the 2015–16 season. In 2016, he started at center for the Gophers and won Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year after setting the Gophers single-season record in blocks with 114.

The 2017–18 Minnesota Golden Gophers men's basketball team represented the University of Minnesota in the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Gophers were led by fifth-year head coach Richard Pitino and played their home games at Williams Arena in Minneapolis, Minnesota as members of the Big Ten Conference. They finished the season 15–17, 4–14 in Big Ten play to finish in a three-way tie for 11th place. As the No. 11 seed in the Big Ten Tournament, they lost in the first round to Rutgers.
