She won a record breaking seven Golden Guitar awards in the Tamworth Country Music Festival in January 2004, and as of 2017, she has won 21 in total. Three of her six studio albums have reached the top 30 on the ARIA Albums Chart, Firefly, Lovegrass and Silos. Silos also won Best Country Album at the ARIA Music Awards of 2016. Storer has been a member of a country music trio, Songbirds (2007–09) alongside Beccy Cole and Gina Jeffries. Born in Stanthorpe, Queensland, Blundell first rose to prominence after being named "best new talent" at the 1987 Country Music Awards of Australia. Blundell has since released several albums in both Australia and the United States, with his most successful album This Road selling more than 145,000 copies in Australia. Blundell was an unsuccessful candidate for the Senate in Queensland at the 2013 federal election, running for Katter's Australian Party. At the 2019 Country Music Awards of Australia, Blundell was inducted into the Hall of Fame.

The Happening Thang were an Australian country pop group formed in 1984 by Stuart Crysell on guitar, David Lennon on drums, Rose Pearse on bass guitar, Andrew Travers on acoustic guitar, vocals and harmonica, and Catherine Wearne on lead vocals. The band's line-up changed to Pearse, Travers and Wearne, Ricky Cole on drums, Jeff Mercer on guitar, mandolin and dobro, and David Patterson on bass guitar and vocals for their debut album The Happening Thang, in June 1989. Their second album Saddlepop (1990), was issued on Trafalgar/WEA. The group disbanded in 1991.
