Trevor Pemberton is an American attorney and judge who served on the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals from 2020 to 2021 and as the general counsel for Oklahoma governor Kevin Stitt from 2021 to 2024.
Pemberton graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2005 and the Oklahoma City University School of Law in 2008. He was appointed as a special judge for Oklahoma County in May 2017 and appointed by Governor Mary Fallin to fill a vacant district judge of Oklahoma County position in January 2018. [1] [2] He was appointed to the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals on August 24,2020,by Governor Kevin Stitt to replace Judge Larry Joplin. [3] He left the court on October 15,2021,to serve as Stitt's general counsel,replacing Jason Reese. [2] Pemberton announced he would leave Stitt's office on November 1,2024,and Stitt announced Ben Lepak as his replacement. [4]
Tom Colbert is a former Associate Justice of the Oklahoma Supreme Court. He was appointed to the Court's District 6 seat in 2004,by Governor Brad Henry,becoming the first African-American to serve on the court. Lesbian,gay,bisexual,transgender,and queer (LGBTQ) people in the U.S. state of Oklahoma face legal challenges not experienced by non-LGBTQ residents. Same-sex sexual activity is legal in Oklahoma as a result of the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Lawrence v. Texas,although the state legislature has not repealed its sodomy laws. Both same-sex marriage and adoption by same-sex couples have been permitted since October 2014. State statutes do not prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity;however,the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in Bostock v. Clayton County established that employment discrimination against LGBTQ people is illegal. This practice may still continue,as Oklahoma is an at-will employment state and it is still legal to fire an employee without requiring the employer to disclose any reason.
Richard Eugene Glossip is an American prisoner currently on death row at Oklahoma State Penitentiary after being convicted of commissioning the 1997 murder of Barry Van Treese. The man who murdered Van Treese,Justin Sneed,had a "meth habit" and agreed to plead guilty in exchange for testifying against Glossip. Sneed received a life sentence without parole. Glossip's case has attracted international attention due to the unusual nature of his conviction,namely that there was little or no corroborating evidence,with the first case against him described as "extremely weak" by the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals.

Stitt was reelected to a second term in 2022,defeating Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister,a Republican turned Democrat,with 55.4% of the vote.

Kuehn had previously been an Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals Judge after her appointment by the Governor of Oklahoma Mary Fallin on October 2,2017. Kuehn is the first woman to serve on both of the state's high courts,the Oklahoma Supreme Court and the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals.
