The women's PTVI triathlon was part of the triathlon at the 2022 Commonwealth Games program. The paratriathlon was held on 31 July 2022 in Sutton Park near Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, England. [1] The event featured nine triathletes from six nations, and nine sighted guides. This was the second women's paratriathlon at the Commonwealth Games, and the first for athletes with a visual impairment. [2]

The race was held over sprint distance and consisted of swimming, road bicycling, and road running. [3] Triathletes were selected on the basis of World Triathlon paratriathlon PTVI rankings, with one quota held over for the bipartite invitation process, awarded to Juliet Mwongeli of Kenya, [4] [5] though ultimately she did not contest the race.

Jessica Tuomela is a Canadian paralympic competitive swimmer and para triathlete who was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. She won silver in the 50-metre freestyle at the 2000 Summer Paralympics and bronze in the Women's PTVI Paratriathlon at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Triathlon is one of the sports at the quadrennial Commonwealth Games competition. It was first granted Commonwealth Games sport status in 2002, and has been held in each edition since, except in Delhi 2010 Games due to the lack of suitable venue for the swimming leg in Delhi. Until 2022, it was a core sport which had to be included in each competition's sporting programme. Para-triathlon was first included as an optional sport in the Gold Coast 2018 games. The next appearance of the sport will take place in the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, Australia
Lindy Hou, is an Australian tandem cyclist and triathlete from Hong Kong. Arriving in Australia with her family in 1974, she was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa in the mid-1980s and became legally blind in 1996. She has won six medals at the 2004 and 2008 Summer Paralympics.
Kathleen Margaret "Katie" Kelly is an Australian paratriathlete, who has a degenerative disease known as Usher syndrome. Kelly began competing in the PT5 paratriathlon classification in February 2015 when her condition deteriorated to a legally blind state. She has just 30 per cent of her vision. With her guide Michellie Jones, Kelly won gold medals at the 2015 and 2017 ITU World Championships and 2016 Rio Paralympics. She competed at the 2020 Summer Paralympics.
Melissa Reid is a visually impaired British paratriathlete who competes in the PTVI classification. She is a Paralympic bronze medallist and a former World and European Champion. She is based in Falmouth in Cornwall.
Lauren Parker is an Australian para-triathlete and para-cyclist. She won a silver medal at the 2020 Summer Paralympics. She has won multiple World Triathlon Championships in Women's PTWC. Parker has been selected for triathlon and road cycling events at the 2024 Paris Paralympics.
