Dhan Singh Rawat is the Cabinet Minister of Uttarakhand and a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He has served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Uttarakhand, representing the constituency of Srinagar Garhwal.
The Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly, also known as the Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha, is a unicameral governing and law making body of Uttarakhand, one of the 28 states of India. It is seated at Dehradun, the winter capital, and Gairsain, the summer capital of Uttarakhand. The total strength of the assembly is 70 Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLA).
Yashpal Arya is a 7-time MLA from Uttar Pradesh (twice) and Uttarakhand combined. He is a former Minister of Transportation, Social Welfare, Minority and Students' Welfare in the Government of Uttarakhand under Bharatiya Janata Party's rule. Currently, he is an Indian National Congress leader and member of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly. He is a former Speaker of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly under Indian National Congress' rule. He was elected from Mukteshwar constituency in the 2007 Uttarakhand state assembly elections.

The 2017 Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly election was the 4th Vidhan Sabha election of the state of Uttarakhand in India. Elections were held on 15 February 2017 in a single phase for the 69 seats of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly. Voting in the Karnaprayag constituency was postponed until 9 March 2017 due to the death of BSP candidate Kuldeep Kanwasi in a road accident. In the previous election in 2012, none of the parties won a majority but the Indian National Congress formed the government with the help of PDF with the leadership of Vijay Bahuguna.

Madan Kaushik is an Indian politician from Bharatiya Janata Party. He was the immediate past BJP's state president in Uttarakhand and serving his fifth term as MLA from Haridwar constituency. He is the former spokesperson for the Government of Uttarakhand. He is a member of the Legislative Assembly from Haridwar uttarakhand. He served as the cabinet minister from 2017 to 2021 and also, from 2007 to 2012 in Bhartiya Janta Party government under the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri and Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank. He was first elected as a member of the Legislative assembly in the year 2002 and subsequently in the year 2007, 2012, 2017 and 2022. In 2017, he won the elections with a margin of more than 37,000 votes, thereby getting the 68% of the total polled votes. He further won 2022 elections to serve his fifth term by winning with a margin of more than 15,000 votes.
