"In the End" is a song by American rock band Linkin Park. It is the eighth track on their debut album, Hybrid Theory (2000), and was released as the album's fourth and final single.
"Sugar, We're Goin Down" is a song by American rock band Fall Out Boy. "Sugar, We're Goin Down" was released to US radio on April 4, 2005, as the lead single from their second album, From Under the Cork Tree (2005). Two different CD singles were released with different B-sides, Part I with a green cover and Part II with a red cover. With music composed by vocalist Patrick Stump and lyrics penned by bassist Pete Wentz, the single reached No. 8 on the US Billboard Hot 100, becoming Fall Out Boy's first top-10 hit and exploding the band into the mainstream, exposing them to a new audience. The Neighbourhood is an American rock band formed in Newbury Park, California, in 2011. The band is composed of vocalist Jesse Rutherford, guitarists Jeremy Freedman and Zach Abels, bassist Mikey Margott, and drummer Brandon Alexander Fried. After releasing two EPs, I'm Sorry... and Thank You, The Neighbourhood released its first full-length album I Love You. on April 23, 2013, via Columbia Records. The same year, the EP "The Love Collection" was released; and in November 2014, a mixtape titled #000000 & #FFFFFF. A second album, Wiped Out! was released on October 30, 2015. On March 9, 2018, a self-titled third studio album came out, preceded by the release of two EPs: Hard on September 22, 2017, which briefly charted on the Billboard 200, and To Imagine on January 12, 2018. After the release of the album, the tracks from the extended plays not included on the final tracklisting were collected in another EP, Hard to Imagine. All song names use the British spelling of words hence the name of the band.

Beginning with the chart dated October 20, 2012, the chart has followed the methodology of the Billboard Hot 100 by incorporating digital download sales, streaming data, and radio airplay of rock songs over all formats. From that time until mid-2020, only the performance of core rock songs, including those with an "alternative bent", were tabulated and ranked for the chart. With the chart dated June 13, 2020, Billboard revamped the chart to permit a broader selection of songs considered alternative "hybrids" with other genres and renamed it to Hot Rock & Alternative Songs.

Atlas Genius are an alternative rock band formed in Adelaide, South Australia in November 2009. The band's mainstay members are the Jeffery brothers, Keith on lead vocals and lead guitar; Michael on drums; and Darren Sell on keyboard. The song was the band's debut single; it was first released in 2011 through the independent label Young and Lost Club as a double A-side 7-inch single with their song "Icarus". The single was later re-released through Virgin Records as a digital download on 21 October 2012, featuring remixes and new B-side track "Durban Skies", peaking at number 21 on the UK Singles Chart on this occasion.
