As of the 2010 census, the population was 32,024. The county seat is Hamilton. The largest city in the county is Pine Mountain, a resort town that is home to the world-famous Callaway Gardens Resort and Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park. Harris County was created on December 14, 1827, and named for Charles Harris, a Georgia judge and attorney.

THRL is a member of PINES, a program of the Georgia Public Library Service that covers 53 library systems in 143 counties of Georgia. [2] Any resident in a PINES supported library system has access to the system's collection of 10.6 million books. [3] The library is also serviced by GALILEO, a program of the University System of Georgia which stands for "GeorgiA LIbrary LEarning Online". This program offers residents in supported libraries access to over 100 databases indexing thousands of periodicals and scholarly journals. It also boasts over 10,000 journal titles in full text. [4]

The Public Information Network for Electronic Services is the nearly statewide library consortium and its online library catalog of the Georgia Public Library Service. By June 2017, the catalog consisted of books from 284 library facilities in 143 counties across the U.S. state of Georgia with a collection size of 10.6 million items, all of which are searchable by anyone with a PINES library card which can be obtained free of charge from any PINES-participating library.

The Georgia Public Library Service (GPLS) is the state agency for libraries in the State of Georgia and a unit of the University System of Georgia. The service was initially founded in 1996 after the inception of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA), and in July 2000 moved from the Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education (DTAE) to the Georgia Board of Regents and University System of Georgia. History

The Troup-Harris Regional Library officially began in 2007 after neighboring Coweta County left the system in 2007 to begin their own. [5]

In December 2016 the library system opened their first new building for the city of Hoganville. This library was the result of a $1.12 million SPLOST fund that was matched by $2 million from the state of Georgia. [6] This new library has over 11,200 square feet of space for book stacks, meetings areas, and computers, and replaced the old 3,000 square foot building which was too small to house the branch's entire collection. [7] Groundbreaking for a second library, to replace the current Harris County Library, began on March 21, 2017. [8]

Hogansville is a city in Troup County, Georgia, United States. The population was 3,060 at the 2010 census. Since 1998, Hogansville has held an annual Hummingbird Festival in October. It is located approximately halfway between Atlanta and Columbus, Georgia on Interstate 85 via Interstate 185.
