The village is located along the Trysfjorden, about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) east of the small village of Ålo on the opposite side of the fjord. The villages of Tangvall, Lunde, Ausviga, and Høllen all lie about 8 kilometres (5.0 mi) to the east of Trysnes.

Old Søgne Church is a historic parish church in Søgne municipality in Vest-Agder county, Norway. It is located in the southeastern part of the village of Tangvall. The church is part of the Søgne parish in the Mandal deanery in the Diocese of Agder og Telemark. The white, timber-framed church was built around the year 1640 by an unknown architect. The church seats about 270 people. The "new" Søgne Church was built in 1861 to replace this (smaller) church. Since that time, this church is no longer regularly used, but it is available for special occasions such as baptisms and weddings.

Songvår Lighthouse is a coastal lighthouse in the municipality of Søgne in Vest-Agder county, Norway. The lighthouse sits on the island of Hellersøya, about 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) south of the village of Høllen. The lighthouse was first built in 1888, and in 1955 a new lighthouse was constructed. The lighthouse was closed in 2004 and replaced with a smaller automated light tower, just southeast of the existing lighthouse.
