Tua Jia Ka, alternatively spelled Tua Jia Kar, is a commemorative replica of a former well in the Somapah Serangoon Village, which was also known as Tua Jia Ka. It is situated in Kovan, Singapore, and occupies the former site of the village. [1]
The structure was introduced in 1998 as part of the upgrading of the Hougang Street 21 Neighbourhood Centre, which was renamed Kovan City. The well is about 2.5 metres in diameter and similar in size to the original. It was placed on the former site of the Somapah Serangoon Village, which was also known as Tua Jia Ka. A granite tablet, which was installed on the structure, describes the history of the village. [2] [3] [4]

The Ee Hoe Hean Club, founded in 1895 and located at Bukit Pasoh Road in Chinatown, was a millionaires' club in Singapore. Besides functioning as a social and business club, members of the club were actively involved in the political development of China in the early 20th century. The club supported the 1911 Xinhai Revolution which overthrew the Qing Dynasty, and later the establishment of the Republic of China. During World War II, it was the headquarters of the anti-Japanese China Salvation Movement in Southeast Asia from 1937 to 1942. On 18 October 1995, the club was gazetted as a Heritage Site by the National Heritage Board of Singapore.
Kovan is a neighbourhood located within the town of Hougang, in Singapore. The neighbourhood today largely consists of private housing properties, where majority of the residents live in terrace homes, semi-detached houses and bungalows.
Lee Zii Jia is a Malaysian badminton player. He was the men's singles gold medalist at the 2019 SEA Games and won his first BWF Super 1000 title at the 2021 All England Open. Lee is the 2022 men's singles Asian champion, winning the title at the 2022 Badminton Asia Championships.
The Former Queen's Theatre is located at the Geylang Road, opposite Lorong 41 road. The theatre had been one of the main entertainment places in Geylang from 1930 to 1982. The building was named Wembley Cinema from 1930 to 1933, Ritz Cinema from 1933 to 1939, and Queen's Theatre from 1939 until it was closed in 1982. The front facade of the building is now conserved and becomes part of the GrandLink Square.
Lee Boon Wang was a Chinese-born Singaporean landscape painter, best known for his riverside and seaside paintings. Many of his paintings are exhibited at the National Gallery Singapore.
The National Aerated Water Company Factory is a factory which belonged to the National Aerated Water Company. The building was integrated into the Jui Residences condominium.
