Imphal is the capital city of the Indian state of Manipur. It is the second largest city in northeast India after Guwahati. The metropolitan centre of the city contains the ruins of Kangla Palace, the royal seat of the former Kingdom of Manipur, surrounded by a moat. Muallum is a Zou village within Singngat Sub-Division, Churachandpur district of Manipur, India. It is located along the Tedim Road that connects the Indian city of Imphal with the Burmese town of Tedim. The word Muollum is a Zou word meaning round-shaped mountains found around the village. With the re-induction of the ADC in the Hill Districts of Manipur, it has become an ADC Constituency.
Leimakhong is a small town in the Kangpokpi district in Manipur, India. It is on Kangpokpi's border with the Imphal West district, approximately 30Km west of the Imphal city. It is on the bank of the Leimakhong River, a tributary of the Imphal River. The town is inhabited by Kuki, Nepali and Meitei communities. According to the 2011 census, the town had a population of 3544 of which 25 percent are Scheduled Tribes.
The Zeliangrong people are one of the major indigenous Naga communities living in the tri-junction of Assam, Manipur and Nagaland in India. They are the descendants of Nguiba. The term "Zeliangrong" refers to the Zeme, Liangmai and Rongmei Kindred tribes combined. Earlier, the term also covered the Inpui tribe. The descendants of Hoi of Makuilongdi (Makhel) were divided and were made peripheral appendages to three political entities - Nagaland, Manipur and the Dima Hasao of Assam. The Zeliangrong may be classified as an ethno-cultural entity. The Zeliangrong belong to the larger Southern Mongoloid population and their language belongs to the Sino-Tibetan family of languages.
